We had an amazing time at the Auckland Vintage Textile Fair today! Its was so much fun meeting you all and watching people find something super special, the lighting up of eyes and drooling over beautiful things together. I even got a little glimpse of Dita before her show tonight but devastated I didn't get to actually meet her 😭 Anyway what a great day of meeting vintage and fashion lovers, I even bought a few special bits myself 😆
Plus massive shout out to my amazing friends helping on the day and to the organizers for running a smooth event 👏

Life is going to get a whole lot more exciting as we bring a tonne of quality vintage pieces online with the reopening of Halcyon Days ❤️💋 But first we'd love to hear from you! We know vintage fashion is getting more popular but the online choices can be so overwhelming, plus finding your own style and commiting to heirloom purchases is A LOT.

Those darn moth holes aren't just the product of time on vintage clothes. They can happen in a few weeks of insects getting into your wardrobes, especially if there are nooks and crannies for them to hide in. I just found a bunch in this gorgeous handmade 1980s jersey eek!

Natural fibres like jumpers and coats are the perfect dinner spot for carpet beetles, especially if you live in warmer climates like Northland.
Its a good idea to regularly check any mending or laundry piles and natural fibres in your wardrobe or in storage fairly regularly for pests like clothes moths and carpet beetles. Make sure to kill any bugs and maybe put some deterrents out like insect traps. Right now you're grossed out, get inspecting for the little critters!

Flashback to the times when we used our period house, shed and gardens as backdrops for our period clothes. If you're like us, you'll like all things old, not just the clothes!

Sadly our gardens mostly gone (our decision) but the house is looking better than ever and hopefully we can plant some beautiful new gardens to create a 1910s dreamland 😍

Happy New year my beauties! Michael and I are feeling pretty exhausted from a full 2025 of house rennos and can't wait to get back to our more glamorous lives of sharing beautiful vintage clothes. Here's to all the good things 2026 will hold, we'll be seeing you soon xx
