Giving Vintage Wool Blankets A Second Life🐑🧵
What was once tucked away, forgotten, or no longer used is transformed into unique, handmade pieces that can be loved for years to come.
Here at Country Stitch’n Creations, each blanket has a story - I’m just helping it continue.
With a love for sewing, farming, and the outdoors, I've combined my passions to create a small business that gives old woollen blankets a new life. By transforming these well-loved blankets into timeless handmade pieces, I hope to reduce the need for new fabrics and make the most of the beautiful materials we already have.
Based in Northland, New Zealand, I handcraft unique heirloom pieces from repurposed wool blankets that may otherwise have been discarded or left forgotten. Each blanket carries its own journey - from the sheep’s back many decades ago, to keeping Kiwi families warm in homes across New Zealand, and now being transformed into something new that can be worn, loved, and passed on.
Every piece I create celebrates the character of these blankets - their original patterns, colours, and the little imperfections that show their history.
I create a range of of one-of-a-kind pieces including woollen blanket coats, jumpers, vests, homewares such as cushion covers and baby blankets, as well as accessories including duffle bags and dog Custom orders are also available on selected items, and I love the opportunity to transform your own treasured blankets into meaningful pieces that you can enjoy for years to come.
