Behind every collection is a thoughtful process of exploration and selection.

At Peruvian Traditions, developing a project often begins with reviewing yarn palettes, color cards, and fiber options to identify the materials that best support a designer’s vision.

This stage is where ideas start to take shape — where color, texture, and fiber come together to define the personality of a collection.

From sourcing to sampling, each decision helps transform inspiration into a finished garment.

Every collection begins long before production.
It starts with the fiber — carefully selected for its quality, origin, and performance.

From there, yarns are developed, tested, and transformed into swatches — where texture, structure, and color come to life.

This is where ideas become tangible.
Where design decisions are refined.

And where every detail is understood before moving forward.

At Peruvian Traditions, development is a collaborative process — guided by experience, precision, and respect for the material and the people behind it.

Because great garments don’t begin on the runway.

They begin with the fiber.

Did you know that manual knitting machines don’t use electricity?

These machines rely entirely on human skill and movement — transforming yarn into fabric through precision, rhythm, and experience.

Used widely in artisan workshops across Peru, manual knitting allows for greater control over structure, tension, and detail, making each piece more intentional and unique.

It’s a process where craftsmanship leads, and technology follows.
Because sometimes, the most efficient way forward is guided by hands, not power.

Today, we’re in New York at Peru Moda.

A space where Peruvian textile heritage connects with the global fashion industry — bringing together fiber, craftsmanship, and design.

At Peruvian Traditions, our work begins at origin — working closely with suppliers and artisan communities across Peru to develop textiles with purpose.

Being here is about sharing that process.
From fiber to garment.
From the Andes to global markets.

Because great collections don’t just happen —
they are built from the very first thread.

Every collection begins long before production — it starts with choices.

Color, fiber, and texture come together at the earliest stage of development, shaping the direction and identity of each design. From reviewing yarn palettes to selecting the right materials, every detail plays a role in how a garment will look, feel, and perform.

At Peruvian Traditions, this process is guided by experience and collaboration — helping designers translate their vision into materials that truly support their ideas.
Because the foundation of a great collection is built one decision at a time.

Not all alpaca products are created equal — and certifications are what make the difference.

The International Alpaca Association (IAA) provides globally recognized certifications that guarantee the authenticity, quality, and fiber content of alpaca products. These are represented through official “Alpaca Marks” — labels that verify each piece meets strict international standards.

The three main certifications include:
• Gold Origin Mark — 100% Pure Baby Alpaca, the finest and softest grade (≤23 microns)
• Silver Origin Mark — 100% Pure Alpaca, high-quality and durable (23–26.5 microns)
• White Blend Mark — Alpaca blends with a minimum of 30% alpaca fiber

Beyond fiber quality, standards like the Responsible Alpaca Standard (RAS) ensure animal welfare, responsible land management, and fair working conditions across the supply chain.

These certifications protect against mislabeling, ensure traceability from the Andes to the final garment, and reinforce trust in every piece created.

At Peruvian Traditions, we work with trusted partners and certified materials — because true craftsmanship begins with transparency and quality at the source.

Meeting was a truly special moment for us.

At Peruvian Traditions, we value every opportunity to connect with people who proudly represent Peru through their voice, talent, and work.

We deeply admire Peruvian women who, through their journey and dedication, continue opening paths and carrying the name of Peru with pride.

We are proud to have shared this moment with her, and we believe this encounter can become the beginning of something very valuable: more connection, more visibility, and more spaces to continue sharing the value of Peruvian products and the beauty of alpaca with the world.

From Peru to the world, with pride, purpose, and collaboration.
