So you’re thinking of removing your coord because all you need are good memories captured by photo and video teams...you know, the photos and videos posted on social media. All you need are the p/v teams that can make those happen, right?

Wrong... pls take time to read the points below:

Let’s all remember that your photo and video teams who churn out great shots and amazing videos depend on the coordinators to manage things for them — asking the entourage or family members to come to a certain area for the shoot, bringing them their food and drinks during preps and the reception, making sure the march will happen properly so they can have unhampered shots, keeping guests at bay during the empty ballroom shoot, etc.

How do you prevent yourselves from seeing each other as members of the p/v teams take you around the preps venue for different shots? The coords are continuously in communication to prevent the bride and groom from running into each other. P/Vteams don’t need to think about this because they can rely on efficient Coords to ensure they won’t end up making the bride and groom see each other before the march.

Why do you think coords are just about ready to sleep at the end of their more or less 14-hour days? So tired from walking around to call people needed for the make up and shoot several times within the day — hair down, hair up, post nup; so tired from going back and forth to follow up same day edits; so tired from running errands within the day — call this person, handle turnovers, make people line up, go to this building, handle registration and reigning in guests, etc., and so tired from making sure things are prepared one step ahead during the ceremony and reception.

It’s not easy being a coordinator. Minsan mawawalan pa yan ng food kasi nagkamali ng bilang ng ento sa preps (or biglang nagsama ng boyfriend/girlfriend), or ang Ibang suppliers mali ang count na binigay. Or nabigay na ang food and drinks ng suppliers, si supplier pupunta sa area, babawasan ang food and drinks ng coords kasi busy sila at di nila makikita sino’ng kumuha. Minsan ang editors ng same say edit, pupuwesto sa malayo, hahanapin pa ng coord, tapos pupuntahan several times during the program to follow up and update — susungitan pa. Pero in the first place, dapat naman ready yan pag patapos na ang program di ba? May team mates ang p/v sa reception venue who can actually update the editors via cellphone. Pero hindi, coord ang gagawa niyan... pabalik balik para irelay ang 40 mins daw, tapos 20 mins after pag nagtanong ulit, 40 mins pa rin ang irerelay sa host na gumagawa ng paraan para pahabain ang program.

So sa nag iisip na wag na kumuha ng host kasi intimate wedding naman.. think again... halos lahat ng program ngayon 3 hours — mas mahaba kesa sa average nung time na walang pandemya. Pero 3 hours na minsan, paubos na ang oras sa venue, di pa rin tapos ang SDE.

Anong point? Yung nakikita sa social media, maganda pero wag kalimutan ang mga tao behind the scenes. Wag kalimutan na kaya yan napanuod ng maayos sa program kasi magaling din ang sounds and lights + led wall/projector team — or naka bantay ang coord para tulungan sila. Wag kalimutan na walang “hangry” na guests dahil masarap at marami ang pagkain mula sa cocktail food provider at caterer. Wag kalimutan na kaya extra ganda ang bride at extra gwapo ang groom kasi magaling ang make up at grooming teams — hindi hulas kahit maraming ginawa. Yung Galing ng musicians kaya mas touching ang march o dances at entertained ang guests sa cocktails at meal time, di rin pwedeng isantabi. Yung bridal car na dinala ka ng maayos sa wedding at dinala kayo ng groom n maayos sa reception, yung photobooth na maganda ang prints kaya maganda ang souvenirs importante rin sila, yung flowers sa bouquets, sa simbahan, sa reception, di rin pwedeng mawala.

Walang supplier na hindi Importante sa isang wedding. Lahat yan may role to play. Pag tinanggal o di magaling ang kinuha, may problema. Doon malalaman na kailangan pala.
