San Miguel vs Shell Rimula-X (1994 PBA Comm’s Cup)
During the 1994 Season, a trade occurred between B**g Alvarez and Romy dela Rosa, resulting in Alvarez joining Shell and reunited with Abet Guidaben, his former teammate in Alaska. Guidaben played his final year with the Rimula X under Coach Joe Lipa, ultimately retiring from basketball. Coincidentally, this was also the last year of Ramon Fernandez's PBA career who retired at the end of the season.
A highly intense game unfolds between the San Miguel Beermen and Shell Rimula X, featuring numerous electric dunks by Benjie Paras and B**g Alvarez. The game extends into overtime, captivating the audience. Notably, both teams are led by two of the best point guards of the early 90s, Ronnie Magsanoc and Hector Calma.
It is worth mentioning that during this game, a power failure at the Cuneta Astrodome caused a significant delay before the game could resume.
