OA 🤣

Sometimes, because of the many shortcomings we have as parents, we try to make up for them in the wrong ways—and sadly, these don't really help in our child's growth. We think we're doing the right thing, but without realizing it, we might actually be reinforcing negative behavior instead.

"REGRETS"

I have a story to tell. Back in grade school, I could keep up with the smart kids and even received awards in grades 4, 5, and 6 without much effort. I knew I deserved those awards because I had the ability.

When I graduated with honors, no one from my family came to my graduation. No mom, no siblings, but my mom is just at home, F*ck right? I had to "pin" the medal on myself with my teacher and take note I don't even have a Graduation picture. From then on, I went to school every day just to escape from home.

In high school, there were jokes about how I was just there for show because I didn't contribute much. I didn't do cleaning duties and wasn't interested in school activities. But I enjoyed English, thinking it would be useful someday, and it is, for my job now.

I didn't take my studies seriously and ended up with back subjects because I thought, "No one appreciates me anyway, so why bother?" Looking back, I realize how foolish I was. I risked my future just because my parents didn't appreciate me.

Now, I see that nothing really changed. My mom didn't care at all. I wasted my chances to improve my future just to spite her. If I could turn back time, I would accept that some parents just don't care about their kids. I wish I hadn't let my resentment affect me. I should have taken my studies seriously. Maybe then, my life would be better now.

For most people, money has been more important than family for a long time. It's always been that way. But why is it still so hard to accept this reality? Why does this system still hurt our feelings?

Why are we like that? Or maybe it's just me. In every stage of our lives, in every moment, there are always good things that happen. However, we often don't see them at the time. We only appreciate them when they're gone or when we're in a difficult situation. For example, I now realize how lucky I was to be at home, taking care of my child. Back then, I was always tired and wished I had a job instead. Now that I have a job, I don't feel happy because the good things I hoped for, like giving my family a better life, didn't happen. I focus too much on what I don't have and overlook the good things in my life.

Now it hurts even more because I can't provide the things my children need and deserve. I don't even have the energy to play or bond with them because I'm so stressed with life. Despite all my sacrifices, choosing to work instead of taking care of them, I still haven't achieved what I wanted.

It's really hard to live. I feel like it's not our choice to grow up this way or think this way. I believe we were born to be who we are now. It's not because of how someone raised us or the environment we grew up in. I think this is just our destiny, the way our minds were formatted even before we existed in the world. So, I feel like it's not our fault. It's just that this is our format, and the outcome is what we have, who we are right now.

You know what? That has been my question since before,. why is it so hard to do what's right? Why is it easy for others to do the right thing? I don't understand. If someone can see the future, if God can see what will happen, and those bad things happen because of the free will He granted us, if He knows that the free will and the thinking He gave us will lead to harm, why give it to us? Why give us independent thinking if it will only lead us to suffering and pain? Some say it's not only pain and suffering in the world; there is also joy. But I feel that the price of joy is sadness. For me, I would rather have no joy than have it followed by sadness. Just my thoughts.

You know, wanting to have a child shouldn't be just a wish; it needs to be prepared for. And it's not just about preparing financially or for living conditions. You must also be emotionally, physically, and mentally ready. You need to be whole to give your child a good life.

As parents, we had time for ourselves before we had children. If we're not finished or satisfied with enjoying our lives because we now have kids, it's because of our own poorly thought-out actions. We didn't consider the consequences of our decisions. For me, once we have children, we live for them. Our existence is for our child. We had our chance to live our own lives. It's not our children's fault that we weren't ready to have them. It's not the child's fault that they were born.

Our children don't owe us anything. Every child deserves a better life so that they can create a better life in the future.
