ILOILO City โ In an intensified crackdown against illegal drugs, the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6), under the leadership of POLICE BRIGADIER GENERAL JOSEFINO D LIGAN, has recorded a major victory in its anti-drug campaign, marking 184 arrests and the seizure of approximately 6,936.82 grams of โshabuโ and 92.83 grams of ma*****na for 30 days of operations.
These accomplishments stemmed from the 131 police operations successfully conducted across the region from September 1-30, 2025.
Of the 184 arrested individuals, 59 were tagged as high-value individuals and 135 were street-level individuals.
Among the different police units in the PRO, IPPO recorded the highest value of drug seizures, totaling 3,378.22 grams of shabu and 4.50 grams of ma*****na, followed by ICPO with 1,890.50 grams of shabu and 10 grams of ma*****na, and RPDEU-6 with 1,075 grams of illegal drugs confiscated.
These volumes of illegal drugs were confiscated through a series of coordinated and intelligence-driven operations across the region. These include buy-busts and search warrants implementation in close coordination with local units and community informants.
POLICE BRIGADIER GENERAL JOSEFINO D LIGAN, PRO6 Director, commended all the unit commanders and their personnel across the region.
โThis achievement showcases the unwavering dedication and commitment of PRO6 personnel in safeguarding our communities against the threat of illegal drugs,โ said PBGEN LIGAN. โWe stay steadfast in our mission and will continue working tirelessly to uphold the safety and welfare of the people in Western Visayas.โ,โ he added.
PBGEN LIGAN also calls for the continued active participation of local government units, barangay officials, and the community, urging them to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activities in their areas.
The suspects are now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
