Last year at the MSME Trade Fair, I was honored as MSME of the Year on November 9, 2025, and received 3rd Place Top Seller on July 28, 2025.

Today, some of the people in these photos visited Dodong and Mikay Piña Barong Weaving here in Banga, Aklan together with Sir Jose Francisco "Kiko" Benitez Director General of TESDA. I am truly grateful that they recognized and supported us once again. It was just a short 15minute visit, but we were blessed to make many sales.

DODONG AND MIKAY PIÑA
BARONG WEAVING

Beginning as a laundry helper in a household weaving business in 1990, the founder of Dodong and Mikay discovered her passion for piña weaving.
Her perseverance turned that opportunity into a livelihood, allowing her to invest in piña cloth and support her four children's education. After a typhoon devastated Aklan in 2008, she rebuilt with DTI's financial support in 2015 and partnered with Aklan State University to expand. Now employing 38
weavers, including artisans from the Natural Fiber Technology and Research Institute, Dodong and
Mikay has become recognized name in the piña weaving industry. Featured in exhibits and media, programs, enterprise the thrive continues to while preserving Aklan's weaving heritage.
