Fashion pieces create memories that last throughout generations. A lot of women express themselves through art and fashion. I drew inspiration from women of different generations that became such a big part of my life.
My Ate
My sweet and feisty ate... Such a caring sister but also my defender.
Between the two of us, she is the adventurous one! She tried a lot of trends that I probably could have never pulled off! Before cropped tops were ever introduced my sister already wore hanging shirts paired with mini skirts!
My Mommy
Wise, thoughtful, loving, and strong! The one we all run to for wisdom and encouragement.
Mom loved custom-made garments! I'd often recall how I would sit beside mom as she would flip through the pages of what was then called a catalogue. I'd patiently wait for her to finish bookmarking each catalogue so I could also take a look at outfit references. For me, that's how it all started! My love for art and fashion all began there.
La Abuela, my lola
The homemaker is how she is described by so many.
She was an artist! Her crochet pieces were intricately done! Her creations were far from simple! They were made with patience and skills!
La Abuela collection is a collaboration with my mom. This collection was inspired by my lola's creations. A showcase of both my creations and mom's crochet creations and a combination of my concept and mom's ideas. La Abuela Collection celebrates creative women from different times!
