I owe so much to Catherine O'Hara.
CULT FF. was born in 2022 after watching the entirety of Schitt's Creek...twice! The series is such a special piece of media that moved me like no other series ever did. And for that reason, I wanna be an unapologetically proud Schitthead.
This last week of January, I was folding in some new designs for a re-release including one to commemorate what is arguably the most famous meme from show. So, I was a total mess after seeing the news a week ago. But even in her final moments, I'd still give it to her for gracefully exiting during her favorite season no less.
To Moira Rose, patron saint of excess, oracle of couture, and eternal thespian of the human condition, we raise our goblets of fruit wine in reverent awe.

As a self-taught artist from the outskirts of Bulacan, my limitations to create something life-like pushed me to see faces beyond its conventional patterns. Thus, depiction of non-existent images in nature is what my works leaned towards to ̶ pieces of my own reality.
As I would like to put it:
I have always been artistically inclined as a child. But growing up, I only treated it as leisure, painting doodles on shirts for myself and some friends. Hence, there was no previous intention to nurture it or explore it fully.
2015 is when I had an inkling to move on to canvases.
After three programs from three different schools, I finally decided to solely focus on painting in 2016 and stop lofty academic dreams.
2019. I had my very first exhibit, a one-man show at the Cultural Center of the Philippines.
It was a very fulfilling experience but, unfortunately, with expectations come disappointments. While it established my identity as an artist, some investments did not pay off.
This resulted in a sudden realization ̶ once paint touches my canvas, I am no longer making art for myself.
As an artist, my greater purpose is not to produce a commodity but to produce an idea, an emotion or an experience.
I was challenged with a question, “How could art touch more souls?”
There are a lot of senses to engage with beyond cold white spaces; if only we could turn this world into a gallery.
