Monday Motivation!!!
A story to start your week out with a bang! This is Edge, who has always been somewhat active, participating in fun runs. However, in 2013, he began grad school at the same time as working a full time job. This was when he started to gain a lot of weight as the work pressure and lack of time drained him physically and mentally. 2018 proved to be the turning point for Edge’s fitness journey as he started a new job and found a better work-life balance allowing him more time to focus on fitness. It was here when he was helped by a fellow gymrat to correct his deadlift form, prompting him to invest in himself and hire a personal trainer.
2019 proved to be the best year for Edge as it was during this time when he took his fitness to a whole different level as he was not only being guided in his workouts, but he was also keeping track of his goals and nutrition. It was when he reached his leanest of 65kg at 13% body fat when he decided to go on a bulk to gain more size which enabled him to reach 90kg in early 2020 before the pandemic. Of course just like many, the pandemic proved to be a huge obstacle as gyms were closed down and access to any form of fitness was difficult. This did not stop Edge though, as he was able to invest in a few gym equipment to help him stay on track with his goals at home. With the little equipment he had, he was able to progress and cut down to 78kg. Currently, Edge is able to find a better balance between his workouts and social life.
"In 2019, my schedule was centered around my workouts; in the present I turned fitness into a lifestyle as I now have a better relationship with my body, food, and time management”.
