In this life, will you take the easy way or the difficult way?
If you asked me this question 20 years ago, I would have proudly answered: the difficult way.
I grew up believing that struggle builds character. And to some extent, it does.
But now, at 42, my answer is different.
I will choose the easy way.
Not because I’m lazy. Not because I don’t believe in hard work.
But because I’ve already spent enough years taking the difficult road. I’ve faced challenges, setbacks, disappointments, and lessons that helped shape the woman I am today.
Life has taught me something important:
Hard work doesn’t always guarantee results.
Life isn’t always fair.
And not every deserving person wins every time.
I still admire hard work. I respect perseverance. But I no longer worship struggle.
So if life gives me a little cushion, I’ll take it.
If a door opens for me, I’ll walk through it.
If there’s a smarter, lighter path to the same destination, I’ll choose it without guilt.
Because we only get one life.
And at the end of the day, there is no special prize for making everything harder than it needs to be.
Choose peace.
Choose wisdom.
Choose what works for you.
And never feel bad for taking the path that allows you to enjoy the journey too. ❤️
