The DEEP PEACE of LAPIS LAZULI

The name Lapis Lazuli means "Blue Stone" and it's sometimes referred to as simply "Lampis". It is the source of Ultramarine, a deep blue color pigment which was originally made by grinding lapis lazuli into powder.

The name comes from the Latin ultramarinus, literally "beyond the sea", while "LAPIS" is a Latin word meaning ‘stone’ and the Persian lazhward meaning ‘BLUE".
