Joyce was awarded Second Prize in Apparel Category Competition for the Royalty Collections showcased at Fashion Week Brooklyn SS2017. IDA honorary
juries examined over 1000 entries submitted by architects and designers of interiors, fashion, products, and graphics from 52 countries throughout the world. After final decisions had been made, the jury rewarded the best professional and emerging designers for their achievements in terms of design, creativity, usability and innovation. The coveted IDA Trophy will be awarded to all Designers of the Year title winners at the official biennial International Design Awards Ceremony in Los Angeles. This annual competition recognizes honors and promotes legendary design visionaries and uncovers emerging talents in Architecture, Interior, Product, Graphic and Fashion Design on global level. Last October 2015, Joyce bagged the Grand Prize at the Los Angeles Design Competition by showcasing Filipino tribal wear by adapting her signature floral-inspired style. Pilarsky showcased an 18-piece ethnic-inspired collection of formal wear consisting of cocktail dresses, gowns and male wear that features her interpretations of the various ethic wear of the Philippines. Using natural fabrics from the Philippines, specifically Zamboanga. She sourced jusi, piña, tinalak, abel Iloko and silk gazar from indigenous weavers she supports. This earth-friendliness and sustainability, the use of organic, hand-woven yet practical materials, makes it an important direction in the time of climate change threat. She is one artist who has a very high regard of her country and aims to promote the beauty of its culture and the other Asian countries as a whole and proudly presents it to the world!
