Nike Basketball has exciting news for sneaker enthusiasts: alongside the anticipated “Radiant Emerald” pair, the Kobe 8 Protro will debut in Spring 2024. The offerings don a striking blend of white and court purple hues.

This new Kobe release is just a taste of what’s to come. In 2022, Kobe Bryant’s estate sealed a deal with Nike, promising more signature shoe releases, both retros and fresh colorways.

The Nike Kobe 8 Protro boasts a captivating style with its white engineered mesh upper, paired elegantly with court purple accents. These vibrant touches adorn the Swoosh logos, laces, and Kobe’s iconic signature, gracing the white TPU heel counter. Notably, the shoe features Kobe’s legendary numbers, “8” and “24,” scattered across the upper. The design culminates with a pristine white midsole and a semi-translucent purple outsole.

Over the past two years, NIKE, Inc. has made a concerted effort to improve on its eco-friendliness. Under the “Move To Zero” initiative, the North American conglomerate has reduced waste and carbon emissions across all of its segments, including product manufacturing. One of the achievements of this commitment has been more sustainable footwear, like the newly-surfaced Nike Dunk Low Next Nature replete in “Medium Olive.”

Created from at least 50% recycled material, the upcoming pair boasts a number of details specifically geared for the colder months of the year. Reinforced nylon sets the stage for the suede and leather overlaid across the forefoot, mid-foot and heel. Profile swooshes and upper heel panels indulge in a vibrant “Orange” color that contrasts the predominantly-“Medium Olive” arrangement across the sneaker. The Nike Dunk also includes a furry inner lining and insole, with the latter nodding to how any wearer’s feet will feel: “TOASTY.” Underfoot, the take on Peter Moore’s iconic design is rounded out with a white midsole and light gum brown outsole.

First teased via mock-up in late October, the Air Jordan 3 “Cardinal” has recently appeared through unauthorized, in-hand images.

Just under two years removed from what’ll likely be a highly-visible 35th anniversary, the pair has taken the last year to experiment with handfuls of non-original colorways, among them, A Ma Maniére‘s leading “Sneaker of the Year” candidate. The “Cardinal Red”-accented retro was confirmed as arriving in February 2022 during the Air Jordan Spring 2022 Preview that took place on Friday, December 10th, via the Nike SNKRS app. While far from the collection’s most-anticipated release, the upcoming take on Tinker Hatfield’s first-ever design for Michael Jordan further blends heritage with modern-day flair by following the silhouette’s inaugural color-blocking. The titular shade of ruby arrives at the midsole, collar and tongue lining, eyelets and Jumpman logos on the heel. Elephant print reprises its role in the “Cement Grey” it helped make synonymous with the Air Jordan line. Given that 2022 marks the Air Jordan 7‘s 30th anniversary, it’s possible the similarly-colored version of the model will make a return, ending its 11-year hiatus.

It’s always hard to predict where Nike will take the Dunk Low next. One minute, they’re adapting “Be True To Your School” offerings; the next, they’re celebrating Chinese New Year and Hawker culture in lavish, gilded fashion. Today, the silhouette arrives somewhere in the middle, taking on numerous Autumnal hues in preparation for the season.

Appropriate to its “Cider” namesake, the pair dons shades reminiscent of ale and breweries. The forefoot, ankle flap, Swoosh, and tongue, for example, push a clean wheat suede, while deeper browns sit adjacent along the lace unit, toe cap, and lining. A deep navy tone, then sits right underneath, loosely complementing the logo hits that dress a much brighter purple.

From the AJ3 “Fire Red” to the AJ1 “Chicago,” the Jumpman is bringing back no shortage of beloved releases later this year. And alongside these iconic colorways, we can expect a series of new yet spiritually familiar offerings, such as the aptly named Air Jordan 1 “Heritage.”

A twist on past classics — namely, the above-mentioned “Chicago” — the “Heritage” uses Bulls colors in a way unique from its influences. The instance of “University Red” across the toe is relegated to the background, shifted from the toe cap to the toe box. Behind, the Swoosh’s black finish, too, is swapped out for the bolder shade, matching that of the ankle flaps and heel counter. Elsewhere, the dark neutral does make an appearance, marking the collar and laces while white builds out the majority of the exterior construction (e.g. midsole, mid-panel, eye stays, etc.)

With the unstoppable demand of all-things-University Blue still at its peak, the Air Jordan 6 “UNC” has been touted as one of the must-have sneakers of 2022. This UNC Jordan 6 continues a series of Retro releases inspired by college Player Editions, with venerated college athletic programs such as Michigan, Oregon, and Georgetown represented regularly through this well-concepted string of drops.

The upper features the high-contrast blocking of University Blue and white, while black colors in the interior lining and the spoiler-inspired heel pull-tabs. A transparent tongue makes way for a tribal pattern commonly associated with the Air Jordan 7, only to be repeated on the insoles. Finally, the jersey patch is stitched onto the heel, giving the shoes the performance-ready aesthetic.

Towards the beginning of Spring, DJ Khaled and Jordan Brand unveiled a colorful range of Air Jordan 5s, all of which featured the artist’s signature motto: “We The Best.” And following quite a few months after the collaboration’s announcement, the two have finally revealed that the collection will be releasing on November 28th.

Long-time member of the Jumpman family, DJ Khaled has dressed the much-beloved Air Jordan 5 in a wide assortment of hues. The “Sail” colorway, which is pictured here, was previewed alongside many a pastel, from light pinks to lighter blues. These alternates are effectively referenced throughout the more neutral pair, detailing its midsole, spikes, and quilted lining. Even the embroidery across the heel is similarly highlighted, with yellow thread used for both the “Nike Air” and “We The Best” stamps.

The Nike Dunk Low Next Nature has curried favor from Dunk fans since it was first brought to market in 2021. While identical to the classic Dunk, Nike’s implementation of sustainable practices through its Next Nature line has allowed consumers to enjoy their favorite sneaker models while reducing impact on the environment, because all the small steps count towards the greater goal.

For its next act, the Dunk Low Next Nature appears in a two-toned colorway featuring white and a light tan hue. Something between a light curry brown and a pecan, this new shade offers a fall-friendly look compared to the light pink and mint hues that recently appeared on the silhouette. The bright green insoles with the pinwheel logo continue to be a standard for Next Nature footwear, while grainy specks appear embedded into the rubber outsole.
