ILOILO CITY โ The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) marked another milestone in its intensified campaign against illegal drugs with the arrest of seven High-Value Individuals (HVIs) and one Street-Level Individual (SLI) in four separate buy-bust operations on August 28, 2025. The operations led to the confiscation of approximately 275 grams of suspected shabu.
The first operation transpired early morning at around 12:15 AM in Zone 4, Barangay Caingin, La Paz, which led to the arrest of alias โToto Achingโ, a 32-year-old HVI, and a resident of the said barangay. ICPS2 operatives recovered from his possession approximately 75 grams of suspected shabu, marked money, and other non-drug items.
The second operation transpired at around 3:45 PM in Zone 10, Brgy. Calumpang, Molo, where Iloilo City Police Station 4 (ICPS4) operatives arrested four HVIs identified as: โJekjekโ, male, 29 years old, single; โIntsikโ, male, 40 years old, single, jobless; โRenboyโ, male, 23 years old, pump boy; and โNenengโ, female, 54 years old, pensioner. All are residents of the said barangay. They were found in possession of more or less 60 grams of suspected shabu, buy-bust money, and several non-drug items.
At around 4:42 PM, the third operation was conducted in Muelle Loney St., Brgy. Legaspi-Dela Rama, City Proper, by ICPS1 operatives. Arrested were โTotoโ, male, 36 years old, single, a resident of Brgy. San Isidro, Buenavista, Guimaras, tagged as an HVI; and โNikโ, male, 35 years old, single, and a resident of Zone 3, Brgy. Sto. Niรฑo Sur, Arevalo, Iloilo City, tagged as an SLI. Confiscated during the operation were approximately 60 grams of suspected shabu, buy-bust money, and non-drug items.
The fourth operation followed at around 5:30 PM in River Plains Subdivision, Brgy. Camalig, Jaro, where ICPS3 operatives apprehended another HVI identified as alias โJo,โ 36 years old, male, single, and a resident of the said barangay. Seized from the suspect were approximately 80 grams of suspected shabu, buy-bust money, and non-drug items.
The fifth operation took place at around 9:42 PM in Project 5, Brgy. So-oc, Arevalo, Iloilo City, where ICPS6 operatives together with Iloilo Maritime PS arrested another HVI identified as alias โBoy,โ 22 years old, male, single, and a resident of the said barangay. Confiscated were approximately 75 grams of suspected shabu, buy-bust money, and several non-drug items.
Police Regional Office 6 (PRO6) recognized the dedication of the ICPO operatives who carried out the successive anti-drug operations.

โThese accomplishments stand as a testament to the resolve of our men and women in uniform to put an end to the proliferation of illegal drugs in Iloilo City. The arrest of multiple high-value targets in a single day sends a clear and resounding message to those involved in the illegal drug trade that the PNP is steadfast in its mandate. We will continue to pursue our operations relentlessly, in close partnership with our communities, until Western Visayas becomes a safer and drug-free region,โ PBGEN LIGAN said.
All arrested suspects are now under the custody of their respective ICPO police stations and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
