The second series of our very first collection was inspired by another two remarkable mythologies in the Philippines wherein its main character is a god and a goddess. Our goal is to reminisce and appreciate the richness of our art and relive the beautiful stories in our country that molded our culture as Filipinos.
๐ ๐๐ข๐ฐ๐๐ง๐๐ ๐ฏ๐ (Red)
The inspiration behind this piece is the Philippine god of the sun and war, named Apolaki. He is the son of the supreme god of being, Bathala and a mortal woman, and he shares his sister Mayari, the goddess of the moon.
๐ ๐๐ข๐ฐ๐๐ง๐๐ ๐ฏ๐ (Blue)
The design inspiration for this piece is the moon goddess of the Philippines, named Mayari. She battled her brother Apolaki for dominance of the heavens, and while she won and now rules half of the sky, she lost her eye in the process.
