Our affair with has always been a love-hate relationship. 😁😉😅

The process is tedious, a constant dance of trial and error, where your hands learn to work with the fabric’s weight, movement, and fall. It’s the kind of challenge that requires accepting that, as a creative, you don’t always know where the process will lead, regardless of how clear the vision is in your mind. It often feels like a mental HYROX just to bring a single idea to life.

But the love? It’s priceless! That's the beauty of the craft! 🤩😍🥹

Red has long stood as a defining color across the textiles of the Cordillera especially in Ifugao and the wider highland communities of the Cordillera Administrative Region. More than a visual signature, it embodies life, blood, vitality, prominence, and courage, while also carrying spiritual resonance within ritual and tradition. Rooted in both meaning and material, red was among the most accessible natural dyes drawn from the region’s abundant resources reflecting not just symbolism, but the richness of the land itself.

The Cordillera is often defined by its distinct tribes and enduring warrior spirit. Among the Kadangyan of Kiangan, nobility is not merely inherited, it is lived out through cultural stewardship, generosity, and the responsibility of sustaining high rituals that bind the community. Prestige is expressed not in title alone, but in service, an aristocrat shaped by duty rather than display.
