Have you ever tried to control the things that you cannot control? You've prepared so meticulously, yet life's unexpected challenges stop you in your tracks, hindering your goals.
Two days ago, my doctor asked me, "What's more important to you, your work or yourself?" As a guilty, passionate small business owner, I found it difficult to answer. I often get so immersed in my work that I forget to take care of my health, simply because I love what I do. I wasn't aware that my joy and fulfillment were coming at the expense of my well-being.
11 years ago, I was diagnosed with myofascial pain syndrome and S-curve scoliosis. My journey has been a rollercoaster, filled with physical and emotional highs and lows. My spine may be bent, but I am not broken.
As we approach Scoliosis Awareness Month, I want to shed light on the importance of prioritizing our health, especially as small business owners who wear many hats, often as a one-person team.
Though my heart yearns to pursue my passion without limits, the reality is that health must come first. My doctor wisely advised, "If you truly want to be unstoppable, focus on yourself first. You may think you're ready, but wouldn't it be better if nothing blocked your path to success? Prioritize healing. Partial obedience is disobedience." His words struck me deeply and almost brought me to tears. He is right; loving and caring for ourselves must be our first priority. Healing requires not just prayers but also unwavering dedication.
Although I was eager to share our latest shop update tomorrow, I've decided to postpone the launch to focus on my fitness journey. So, I am taking the courageous step to pause and focus on what truly matters, and I would greatly appreciate your prayers. Right now, I am redirecting my focus to establishing new routines, prioritizing my physical health, and committing to Pilates both at the studio and at home.
I want to share this verse that resonates deeply with me and all scoliosis warriors facing similar struggles: "And He laid His hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God." -Luke 13:13.
KEEP GOING; rest if you must, but never lose focus. Regain your strength, and you will be unstoppable. I'll be back soon, Posh fam! I can't wait to share my progress and launch our exciting new offerings (sneak a peek in the third photo). Thank you for your unwavering support. 🌟
