📍 SUMO NIKU, SM Santo Tomas, Batangas
We’ve seen mixed reviews about this place online, so we went in with an open mind to experience it ourselves and here’s our honest take:
Food: 8.5/10
Since it’s a samgyup-inspired Korean BBQ, we cooked the meat ourselves right at the table. The quality was pretty good, juicy and flavorful cuts that made for a satisfying DIY grilling experience. The variety and side dishes could be better, but overall it hit the spot for our unlimited samgyup cravings.
Service: 8.5/10
The staff were friendly and attentive during our visit, making sure we had what we needed without rushing us. We know others have had different experiences, so service may vary, but ours was smooth and welcoming.
His take: “Satisfying, with room to grow.”
Her take: “Loved it — a perfect 10/10 for me! 👑”
Together? We’d say it’s worth trying if you enjoy cooking your own samgyup and want an unlimited experience around Batangas. Just keep in mind experiences can differ.
