One of the quiet truths in building something from scratch—
a brand, a business, a dream—
is this:
Support doesn’t always come from the people you expected.
Sometimes, it’s not your best friend who shares your post.
Not your barkada who books your service.
Not your closest circle who believes in your price, your value, your growth.
Sometimes, it’s the stranger.
The one who found you online,
sent an inquiry, paid in full, and said,
“Keep the change—your work deserves it.”
They don’t know your history,
but they believe in your future.
And slowly, they become more than clients.
They become believers.
Then supporters.
Then friends.
Meanwhile, you’ll also learn—
that some friends will never become clients.
And that’s okay.
Because not all friendships are meant to fuel your business.
And not all silence is rejection.
But here’s what matters:
Keep showing up.
Even when it feels unnoticed.
Even when your reach feels small.
Even when your inbox isn’t filled with familiar names.
Because somewhere out there,
someone is watching quietly,
respecting your consistency,
admiring your courage,
and preparing to choose you when it matters.
Let go of who “should have” supported you.
And honor those who do—
even if they came into your life with no history,
just genuine belief.
In business, belief is the best currency.
And sometimes, strangers spend it more generously than friends.
