The History of Lottery in the Philippines started as early as 1833 by the Spanish government. Even our own Dr. Jose Rizal won the draw in 1892. Due to the outbreak of the Philippine Revolution against Spanish Government the lottery was forced to stop. It was until in the year 1932 the 1st Lottery Draw sponsored by the Philippine Government it self was conducted to raise funds to support sports projects for the Filipino youth through the Philippine Amateur Athletic Federation the beneficiary of the First draw.
A year after, a Boholano/ Boholana purchased a Ticket for 2.00 pesos hoping to win and be the 1st Filipino to win the Lottery under the Commonwealth Government somewhere in 1933 at Tagbilaran, Bohol.

Sharing to u this original 1933 lottery ticket of the Philippine Amateur Athletic Federation Sweepstake address in Tagbilaran Bohol. A very, very rare Bohol item to remember the history of lottery in the country. 2pesos on that time was big enough and taking the chance to win a lottery is somehow 1 in a million chance but still someone from Bohol take the chance. This is considered as one of my Holy Grail collection, knowing 1932 was the 1st draw and this was from 1933. Preserved here @ J&T Amor Collectibles the home of Bohol Memoriabillias.

Sharing to u this hard to find now a days 45rpm Vinyl records of our very own the one and only Yoyoy Villame with the MB Liner Band and later became Embees produced by the Kinampay Records. A very Nostalgic Bohol item to remember one of the famous Boholano character and the pride of Bohol with its Song Crabs Administration and Sa Edad pa Ako’g Sixteen - Mr. Yoyoy Villame. Its band the MB Liner and Embees were the same but in different time frame, and having them both in its original vinyl record is very rare and one of the holy grail in my collection. Its producer the Kinampay Records is local in Bohol manage by some outstanding Boholanos and Boholanas, the term “Kinampay” is from one of Bohol’s Lagut-mon product the “Ube” or ube kinampay.

Original from the 1960’s Album of Movie Star. This part of Personal Data of Rebecca Del Rio famous Boholana movie star in dekada 60’s and known in the movie “Kasintahan sa Pangarap”
Born Lourdes Buslon in real name from Sierra Bullones, Bohol. Mybe lots of Boholano didn’t recognize her or even heard her name in the History of Movie industry, until this item will give a window to look back that once a Bohola showed up a Star in the Philippine Movie Theater.

Fresh from Bunga Mar.. this legendary fishing tool a.k.a “Gansu” specialized to catch Manta Rays or “Sanga” only in Brgy. Bunga Mar and in Dauis because they are the only place known to be Manta Ray Hunters. Pamilac or Mamilac is a term used to indicate they way of catching this endangered Sanga…and the reason why, one of the Island in Bohol is called “Pamilacan”

“Kote” and it’s traditional “Paro” competition
A traditional game believed to be originated in brgy Libertad Garcia Hernandez Bohol and the competition it self is only in Garcia Hernandez. The Paro competition was revived around year 2001 in Brgy. Libertad every December 15. Divided in different categories where all set of age boys and girls can join and play this traditional game. Now, other Barrios of Garcia Hernandez including the LGU is also trying to have Paro competition. “Paro” is an old term to describe slapping gesture in a sideway manner hence the term “La-paro-hon” tika run” in bisaya or to slap someone. In order to make this “Kote” work u need to throw it in a slapping way while holding the rope to make it turn and move.
A very historical and traditional item to be treasured. Salamat taga Garcia Hernandez labi na sa Brgy. Libertad for letting me have this item. Dalawang variant pa..one is “binanga” and colored one in violet is “inusok” in style. The small one is very unique because it was handmade and not by using a Turno machine. One Bohol, one GaHer
