The unprofessional lumberjacks taking down a century-old Cedar in Janshai area of Swat Valley. Despite repeated claims by KPK Forest Department, it is obvious this tree was taken down in extremely unprofessional way as it destroyed number of young Cedars while going down. Massive and unchecked timber logging continues in Swat in KPK along with many other regions including Kohistan, Malakand Division and Upper Dir. Owing to timber mafia, Pakistan loses approximately 27,000 hectares of forest annually, one of the highest deforestation rates globally.

This is the first time a blunt-nosed Viper in black has been spotted in Baluchistan. This Viper was spotted recently in Chiltan National Park in Baluchistan shedding it's skin on the jagged rocks. This is a highly venomous specie of snakes found across Pakistan but is not considered in the 'Big Four' found in the country which are the famous, spectacled Cobra, saw-scaled Viper, Russells Viper and Common Krait, largely because of the dearth of any record found of deaths caused by it's bite.
