"Karachi is suffering terribly under K-Electric's monopoly. Despite paying electricity bills on time, residents face 15+ hours of daily load shedding in extreme summer heat (often 35-40°C+). On top of that, another 4+ hours of outages are imposed daily in the name of "faults" or maintenance. This is happening in nearly 70% of Karachi's areas. K-Electric's majority owners (through KES Power Ltd) include investors from Al-Jomaih Power (Saudi Arabia), National Industries Group (Kuwait), and IGCF. The people of Karachi are furious — this is not service, it's torture. Families, students, hospitals, and businesses are devastated. We urge the international community and investors to take notice: How can a privatized utility treat millions like this in one of the world's largest cities? Demand accountability!
