The ruler of India Tipu Sultān who was a Muslim introduced an outstanding economic development program that established Mysore as a major economic power, with some of the world's highest wages and standard of living in the late 18th century!

He was was the one who developed the first prototypes of sturdier explosives-filled rockets/missiles. It was the first iron-cased rockets in the world to be successfully deployed for military use. Tipu Sultān's Mysorean rockets also handed the British some of their worst defeats in India.

Tipu Sultān is today known as the “Tiger of Mysore.”
