There is something that shakes the heart about men who possessed everything from authority that could command nations, wealth that could buy comfort without limit, influence that could bend people at will, yet they chose to live as servants of Allah.
They had the world in their grasp… and they let it sit lightly in their hands.
They could have drowned in luxury, but they disciplined their souls.
They could have ruled with ego, but they ruled with accountability.
They could have chased praise, but they feared standing before their Lord.
That is strength.
Real power is not in controlling people.
Real power is in controlling the nafs when the world bows to you.
They stood firm on the Deen when compromise would have been easier. They followed the footsteps of the Prophet ﷺ not selectively, not conveniently, but deliberately. Even when it cost them comfort. Even when it cost them reputation. Even when it cost them safety.
And when the forces of falsehood surrounded them; when whispers, temptations, threats, and mockery tried to weaken them. They did not retreat. They stood like mountains. Warriors of īmān. Unshaken by glitter. Unintimidated by noise.
The world respects dominance.
Allah honors steadfastness.
May Allah forgive the sins of all such men, men who proved that leadership is a trust, not a throne. Men who showed that dignity lies in obedience, not in display.
And may He forgive us. We who fight our own smaller battles in quieter arenas. We who may not rule nations, but must rule our hearts. We who may not face armies, but face temptations every day.
Every one of us has a dominion.
Every one of us has a battlefield.
May we choose Allah over ego.
Truth over comfort.
Steadfastness over applause.
And may we leave this world having proven that in whatever capacity we were given, our loyalty was never to power, but to Him.
A mo’min is not shaken by wars or death. A momin is steadfast with an Iman that can shake mountains. All we can try right now is to be that Mo’min . May Allah make us among the mo’mineen!
