ماہ و سال کا تانا بانا
سانسوں کا ہے آنا جانا
یہ نہ دیکھو کتنے گزرے
یہ بھی سوچو کیسے گزرے
کیا کچھ کھویا کیا کچھ پایا
عمر کی پونجی کہاں گنوائی؟
جو کچھ سیکھا ان سالوں میں
علم عمل میں کتنا آیا؟
دھن دولت کو کہاں لٹایا؟
کتنے احکامات کو سن کر
سر کو اپنے نہیں جھکایا
رحمت، برکت اور سعادت
پانے کا کچھ ذریعہ پایا
بچے رخصت کر کے گھر سے
بڑے یہ سمجھے فرض نبھایا
دنیا میں رہ کر عقبی سنورے
کسی نے یہ بھی ہنر سکھایا؟
ماں کی خدمت فرض تھی جن پر
انہوں نے کتنا اجر کمایا؟
والد سے کیا دعا کو پایا؟
نہ کہ ان کا دل دکھایا
جنت کا جو ذریعہ ٹھہرے
کتنوں نے اس سال گنوایا؟
اب جو عمر باقی ہے یارب
اس میں اپنی رضا و قربت
اس عاصی کے نام یوں لکھ دے
علم عمل میں ڈھلتا جائے
سچا ہو کردار ہمارا
ماہ و سال کا تانا بانا
سانسوں کا ہے آنا جانا
