Deathless Corsets

You know the saying "if you want God to laugh tell him your plans"?
Well, it hit me hard this year. As I was preparing myself to come back to sewing corsets someone up there or down there or whereever was laughing.. Couse, after my mom died I took care of my grandparents (and little brother). There were ups and downs but I was doing what I can to cope. And this January hit us with the stroke - both of them! Grandma got it worse, she will probably won't be able to leave the bed and it's harder to communicate with her then before. Grandpa is better, he can walk but mentally he is not well.
I am mad, sad, disapointed and I feel abandoned by the world. All the social facilities that suppose to help in this kind of situations can't or won't.
I may delete this post later. I just needed to vent.

I like this design. Simple but effective. Such projects are made with pleasure and give a lot of positive energy.
The dress is made of off-white fabric and decorated with black lace with a spider web motif.
The corset is also decorated with a black busk, black eyelets and a black string. Overbust is made with spiral and flat steel boning.
The skirt is fastened with a zipper and a hook, and there is additional elastic sewn in at the back of the waist. The skirt is decorated with numerous frills finished with lace.
The whole is completed with a fascinator also finished with spiderweb lace and decorated with feathers, hand-made ribbon roses and a black veil.

Underbust corset inspired by Art Deco. Made with faux leather in black and blue, decorated with french black lace and silver spikes and brads. Hidden busk at the front and silver grommets at the back.

Closeup of flower corset from wedding set. This overbust was made with ecru fabric decorated in flower motive. There is no busk or any other front closure, only lacing at the back. I use gold grommets to better much colous of the corset.

Overbust corset in flowers pattern with long, tulle, ecru skirt and black belt. I also made flower bow tie for the Groom to match the corset.

This corset was made with black and purple suede fabric. It has no busk but a pair of lacing at the front and one at the back. I used black grommets and black cord. Front panel is decorated with hand painted skull of a bird. The skirt laced at sides complete the set.

There is something wondrous about n**e corsets. This was enjoyable project to make. I think pictures speaks for itself.

Asymmetric corset is always a challenge. But I like a good challenge. Especially when I can make someone happy with the result. I learn a lot when making this corset. For example I would use different fabric and be more carefull while sewing to avoide wrinkles. But we learn from our mistakes so.. Next time ;)
