Today, in my country, we celebrate a big holiday, Easter. People go to church with baskets full of traditional festive food.
When I lived in Ukraine, I used to make a special Easter cake with my grandmother, and later with my mother. We call it “Paska.”
After church, the whole family would gather around the holiday table, and I still remember that atmosphere to this day.
I have been living in Poland for the past four years. Emigration was not my choice, I had to leave Ukraine in February 2022. But we still celebrate Easter the way we did in our homeland. Of course, our family is not as big now, but here in Warsaw I gather with my mom during these days, and we prepare festive food together.
It is a little bit painful, because I dream that one day we will celebrate this beautiful holiday with our whole family under peaceful skies in Ukraine💛
So today I want to show you this stylization. If I were at home, I would wear it on this day. It includes a traditional long white linen shirt, a black skirt, an apron made from part of a traditional embroidered towel, a long embroidered belt, as well as cuffs and a choker.
