My dear friends,
in our everyday life, society supports that we should not demonstrate our emotions. For instance, in childhood, no one was interested in our emotions, or they were suppressed: "don't cry", "don't laugh loudly" and even "don't sing". And then we grow up, and the instructions - not to show your emotions - remain with us for life. Not everyone can understand what exactly they feel. Often, self-perception is divided into "normal" and "crap".
Our emotions signal needs. Sadness is about losing something valuable. Anger is about violating boundaries. Resentment is about not being loved enough, about the thought that I am not important. Anxiety is about predicting dangers.
People know all words, but what emotions they feel in themselves are difficult for them to recognize.
As it turns out, what our mind cannot express and formulate in words can be expressed through an image. And I succeed in this time after time. I paint something, but whatever I painted, I express my emotions. Sometimes only later, when some event happens, can I fully understand what my painting was about.
For example, in the spring of 2021, I really wanted to draw a red horse with a fiery mane on a black background. The horse had tired eyes - he had seen so much. Later I realized that this image was a premonition of war.
Another image - another painting of 2021 - a media bonfire: against the background of the night, an abstract bonfire shines, consisting of yellow, black and red rectangles - these are the media, which, burning every day, throw out many sparks of "news" a and even more smoke. We all live in this smoke, and the news flashes through our consciousness and goes out, so that new ones can fly in tomorrow.
Or, for example, my last picture: it shows the image of a girl who just saw an explosion. This girl is a hot, bright and blooming summer of 2024. She has borne fruit, but could not enjoy it, as she was frozen and turned pale from fear caused by the sight of the explosion and fire, which is reflected in her eyes.
Of course, not all of my paintings carry such complex images and emotions, but they all express what I and thousands of other people around me feel. This is probably my strength - to make emotions manifest.
What do you see in these paintings? Maybe You had similar experience with painting?
