HAPPY MONDAY YALL 🤠
The educational series you all love is back, VWF (Vintage Weekly Fix) and let’s start with a small detail, that’s sort of huge!
So, for as long as I can remember I’ve always been in love with fashion, specially avant-garde (couture) fashion.
It’s no coincidence that my love for vintage started when I noticed certain
high-end details on a lot of these garments and this one, is no different.
Even though this piece is not an antique, it’s vintage from the 1980’s, you can see from a far the METAL sparkly sequins pattern.
I know that to some, it may not be as easy as the trained eye but this small detail says a lot about how back in the day pieces were made and how much love and dedication went into just one dress.
Now at days sequins are made out of plastic, won’t last as long and I can even go as far as to say, they will fall out of a dress within a week (fast fashion ☹️ BOOO!)
In today’s world to get these type of sequins you have to look for high-end designers and spent a good chunk of money. Which a lot of us don’t have, including me.
And this a huge part if why I fell in love with vintage fashion. I don’t have to break my piggy bank to get a couture, detail like dress.
Hope you like this small VWF!
Love you all,
Pao 🤍
