I thought it was about time I put a face to the name…and lucky me, my talented friend captured a shot of my eldest monkey and I at our Grand Opening in October. ⁣
⁣
So, that’s me! Hi! My name is Kaylee, I’m the lucky Mama of two little midgets, born in Anchorage but originally from a small coastal town in the PNW, and later spent my early formative years in a mountain village in Switzerland, I found home in Portugal, together with my now husband, back in 2014. ⁣
⁣
I started Child’s Play Ericeira what feels like a lifetime ago, back in early 2021, at the height of the pandemic, with a wee babe on my hip. Originally an online only business, I quickly realized that this format wasn’t the right thing for me and the Child’s Play fam. I wanted something that would help nurture our growing community, for people to come together, a space that would feel comfortable for everyone. ⁣

Lucky me, I found a home with Jogos d’Arte, where Maud and Michele had already put so much love, sweat, and tears in to their project. ⁣
⁣
And in case you really wanted to get to know me…⁣
⁣
* I much prefer a night in with a good book or a binge-worthy show; I love an early night.⁣
* I crave the mountains and the trees and often fantasize about living in a cottage in Scotland.⁣
* In a past life I worked in strategy and innovation - though I haven’t lost my love for Post-it notes and a good brainstorm session. ⁣
* If I had a choice, I’d bike everywhere. I’m a terrible driver and can’t parallel park worth 💩.⁣

Q: If I don’t find anything suitable for myself at the swap, can I use my points at Child’s Play?⁣⁣
A: Unfortunately, not at this time. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Q: If my items don’t get taken, can I have the items back?⁣⁣
A: We will mark your items with your name, so if you choose to have your items back (rather than keeping them for the next swap), you can take them back. However, you will also be expected to give your points back. ⁣⁣

Q: If my items don’t get taken, can I donate them?⁣⁣
A: Yes, of course. Please mention this when you bring your items in, and we will mark the articles for donation after _this_ swap.⁣⁣

Q: I have some articles, but I dont want to participate in the swap, can I bring them to donate?⁣⁣
A: Yes, please do! We are happy to take in items for donation. ⁣⁣

Q: When is the next swap?⁣⁣
A: We haven’t settled a date yet as this will depend on the popularity of this swap. ⁣⁣

Calling all boy Mamas, Papas, and Caregivers! ⁣⁣

Child’s Play is looking for more gender neutral or “boy” oriented clothes, so make sure to reach out if you’ve got your hands full (figuratively and literally) of all things “boy”. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
We will accept washed, unstained, and generally clothing that doesn’t need repaired. Clothing without size tags are also especially hard to sell. ⁣

The wait is finally over! ⁣

We are so excited to have finally found a home - and what a home it is! Child’s Play Ericeira will be joining Jogos dArte Ericeira () in September. We will be bringing you all things pre-loved, sustainable, and affordable for children aged 0-7.⁣
