A closer look at the ALTRA Olympus 275 HiLo.
Zero mm drop, on a 33mm platform at both ends. Almost every other high-stack trail shoe on the market runs somewhere between 4 and 8mm, so this asks something quite different of your calves and your stride. Altra has built its whole identity on it.
The rest is a full rebuild of the original 275. The updated EGO MAX midsole is the softer, lighter version of the foam, wrapped in a one-piece Matryx upper woven from coated polyamide and Kevlar yarns, hydrophobic and hard to tear. The ankle collar doubles as a built-in scree sleeve. Underneath, Vibram Megagrip with TractionLug covers more of the outsole than before, with bigger lug shapes for wet rock.
The name refers to the terrain it’s built for: high ridges and low basins, and everything in between.
