Tassel loafers seem to fall into this strange category. Everyone knows what they are but not many people seriously consider them at first. Then they look at it and try them out on a whim.

It’s funny how if you showed this pair to most people, they’d probably start talking about the shell cordovan first, maybe even the V-tip. But if you’ve worn enough shoes you know the real story lies within the last.

At first glance, the 87140 doesn’t shout for attention. It’s not as immediately recognisable as a penny loafer or as iconic as a plain toe Blucher. But spend enough time with it and you start to appreciate just how much it can do.

The V-tip adds just the right amount of detail without feeling busy. The colour 8 shell cordovan develops beautifully with wear and somewhere between denim and tailoring, it manages to feel at home in both.
