Getting ready to Broc and Roll! 31 August 🥦

I look forward to the lead-up to National Day every year, because my kiddos start singing bits of the year’s National Day song before I actually know what it is. And when I finally do hear/see it for myself, it already feels so familiar.

They start doing the Singapore cheer with actions at dinner time, from when they have been practicing for the National Day celebration at school that parents are invited to too. And I always make sure I clear my schedule that morning to be able to attend, because my kiddos are so excited for me to be there, and I’m so excited to see them and all the other kiddos in red and white, singing National Day songs at the top of their little lungs and chirpy voices and dancing their hearts out.

And on the actual day, we will take out the goodie bags that family has somehow obtained for us, from their attending of an NDP rehearsal. We will squeeze in front of my work MacBook Pro (the biggest screen in our home haha!) and take out the clappers and flags, and we will watch the NDP in excitement and dance and sing along.

And when the parade ends, the kiddos are immediately ushered off to bed 😂😂😂 (because bedtime still exists 😂) with Singapore in their hearts, and the tunes still in their heads.

We’ve been pretty quiet around here because we’ve been busy with the littlest addition to our family, Tiny T ❤️

It’s been a crazy past four months, with the hubs and me being outnumbered three littles to just us two biggies. Figuring out new dynamics, adapting to new routines, treading that familiar path of diapering and feeding and holding that becomes a bit easier with experience but gets no less exhausting.

There’s nothing in the world quite like that magical, beautiful time of welcoming and getting to know your brand-new-in-the-world person, and I’ve loved spending this special time offline ❤️

Having a newborn is also just a really tough, gruelling phase though, whether it’s your first go-around or your third 😵‍💫😵💪🏻 I finally got a haircut, got my hair washed, put on some proper clothes + made my face, and put Tiny T in the Traveller’s Palm sleeveless bodysuit with no drool or spit on it. Us looking clean and just waving over here is a big win 😂🏅

We’re still in the process of getting back on our feet, but we’re definitely still shipping 🚢
