One thing that's easy to forget is that appetite isn't just about hunger.
So many things come into play such as routine, environment, emotions, sleep, activity levels, and even who's sitting at the table.
Adults do this too!
Think about how you might eat differently at a family gathering, during a work lunch, or when you're home alone after a long day.
Children are no different–they wouldn’t eat the same way everywhere.
Rather than expecting identical eating behaviours in different places, it can help to focus on the bigger picture:
- How are they eating across the whole week?
- Are they growing, learning, and gradually building confidence around food?

One of our favourite things about our Playter Fam is seeing all the creative ways you make our meals your own 💛
Mix, match, crumble, pair, or serve them however works best for your little one, it's such a lovely reminder that mealtimes don't have to look the same every day.

Sometimes, a little twist is all it takes to keep things fun, familiar, and exciting for our little foodies!

Motherhood doesn't take away who you were, but it does stretch you into someone who handles an incredible amount of love and labor all at once. This early stage is a lot. Physically, emotionally, logistically.

And until then, know that you are doing an amazing job. You're not losing yourself; you're just building a beautiful world for someone who thinks you are theirs. Sending a big hug to every parent catching her breath on the couch tonight! :’)
