The modern safari jacket returns for summer — not quite a suit, and far more refined than casual outerwear.

Crafted in Solbiati Art Du Lin linen, our Summer Safari Jacket is made with soft tailoring, an unlined and unstructured construction that allows the linen to breathe and move naturally.

The four-pocket silhouette and horn buttons retain the character of the traditional safari jacket, while the clean ivory linen and tailored proportions give it a lighter, more contemporary expression.

Wear it over a shirt and tailored trousers, or simply with a polo and linen trousers for an effortless summer look.

Heritage utility, reimagined for modern summer dressing.

The finest linen is never created by chance.

A throwback to late July, when we joined tailors from around the world on Loro Piana’s invitation-only linen expedition to Normandy. There, the farmers of Terre de Lin introduced us to the cultivation and harvesting of flax, sharing their knowledge first-hand.

Walking through vast golden fields in bloom, we learnt that each delicate blue flower develops into a seed capsule. The slender plants are highly sensitive to soil humidity, flourishing in earth naturally enriched by earthworms. Within every stem are fibres that will ultimately be separated into long and short fibres before being spun into linen yarn.

What fascinated us most was the patience inherent in the process. Flax returns to the same field only after a crop rotation of approximately five to six years, giving the soil time to recover and renew itself.

Once the plants reach between 80 and 90 centimetres in height, they are pulled from the earth rather than cut, preserving the full length of their fibres. They are then left in the fields to ret, a natural process that separates the fibres from the woody stem. Among the resulting fibres, the finest long fibres are reserved for the creation of exceptional linen yarns.

Normandy is renowned for the quality of its textile flax. From this remarkable harvest, only the top 1% of flax is selected by Loro Piana for its Solbiati linens.

We are grateful to the Loro Piana textile team and the farmers of Terre de Lin for sharing their knowledge so generously.

We also brought home a little flax fibre and several flower buds; dried and arranged in a small art frame - a keepsake from this memorable expedition - yes some memories are worth taking the time to preserve.

The experience deepened our appreciation for all that takes place before linen ever becomes cloth.

True luxury begins at the source.

A little piece of Singapore, made for Rao to take home.

His bespoke double-breasted suit is cut from Loro Piana SummerTime, wool-linen-silk brown chalk stripe on beige. Old money vibe, this soft tailored unpadded yet structured blazer is paired with high-waisted Gurkha pleated front trousers in a wider silhouette.

On the inside, he chose our colourful Peranakan shophouse windows cupro lining; a quiet personal detail, and a reminder of Singapore wherever he wears it.

We love it when a bespoke commission becomes more than just a suit. It becomes part of someone’s story.

Happy 61st Birthday, Singapore. 🇸🇬

Singapore has been home to many small medium businesses like us, where our family grew alongside the business.

This National Day, we wanted to mark the occasion the way we know best.

Crafted from a limited-edition Loro Piana Australis fabric, this bespoke jacket’s lapel is finished with a hand-stitched Milanese buttonhole in red and white. A small detail, perhaps, but one that carries a little piece of home.

Inside is something new, and equally personal - our Meiko insignia cupro lining, created as part of our new brand identity. Seeing our insignia woven into a jacket feels especially meaningful — a quiet symbol of where we have come from, and where we hope to take Meiko next.

A little red and white, stitched with by hand with heart for the nation as we continue Made in Singapore story

The right suit is not just about appearance. It’s about feeling confident in every room you walk into.

In our series of “Coffee with: The Men and Women We Dress”, we speak with our customers about their journey with tailoring, what drew them to Meiko Tailor, and the details that make a custom-made piece truly personal.

Speaking with Jonas Koh, a FinTech Lawyer who has been interested in suits since his teenage years, he shares why tailoring has remained an important part of his profession, from selecting fabrics he personally loves to creating suits made to fit his body perfectly over the past close to 10 years with Meiko.

While we’re away this week in beautiful Normandy (north-west France) spending time with our friends at Loro Piana and Solbiati, alongside 25 bespoke tailors around the world for a curated experience in the world of linen, we thought we let you in on the Loro Piana Fall/Winter 2026 seasonal collection and its newest fabric bunches.

Among our favourites are the gorgeous colours from the Cotton Cashmere - ideal for peacoat or chinos as well as the Soft Way and Twister Natural 2-Way qualities from the seasonal Abiti collection. We are also particularly drawn to the denim tweeds, whose rich texture and understated sophistication lend themselves beautifully tailored contemporary Teba jacket.

Though it’s Fall/Winter collection, many are remarkably breathable and suited for tropical climates as they are equally worthy of consideration if you’re planning an autumn or winter escape, where thoughtful layering and timeless style are essential.

We look forward to sharing more highlights and inspiration from Normandy over the coming day.

A Father’s Love Leaves Footprints Forever

This Father’s Day, we celebrate the men whose strength is measured not by what they carry, but by the lives they shape.

To all our clients who are fathers or grandfathers, thank you for the sacrifices made quietly, the lessons taught patiently, and the unwavering love given generously. You are the first hero, trusted guide, and steadfast protector in the eyes of your children.

As I reflect on my own journey, I am reminded of my father’s love for me and my brother, and the sacrifices he made for the family. The passion for his work, the wisdom, dedication, will continue to shape the values in the work we do.

May you be blessed with precious moments with your loved ones and the joy of knowing that, in the eyes of your child, you will always be their superhero.

Last pic: Sending love to all Dads.

Happy Father’s Day. ❤️

The difference between bespoke and ready-to-wear is often felt before it is seen — in the comfort, ease of movement, and quiet confidence that comes from a garment made specifically for you.

In our latest Coffee With: “The Men & Women We Dress”, we chatted with Isaac Ho, an Insurance Broker who believes that bespoke tailoring is an essential part of a gentleman’s lifestyle.

From his very first custom shirt to the bespoke tuxedo he wore on his wedding day, and the business-casual jackets that accompany him through his workday, Isaac shares why he continues to entrust his wardrobe to us.

Now preparing for a new chapter as a father, Isaac reflects on the importance of dressing with confidence, intention, and authenticity through every stage of life.

Beyond the garments themselves, it is the experience that keeps him returning — thoughtful consultations, meticulous fittings, personalised style guidance, and a genuine understanding of his needs, preferences, and lifestyle.

At the heart of every bespoke relationship is trust, and we are grateful to be part of Isaac’s journey as he steps into fatherhood.

Wishing all fathers and fathers-to-be a Happy Father’s Day.
