S$2,000 every year from age 1 to 16 sounds simple — but every family would probably use it a little differently. 💛

For some, it might go towards everyday needs.
For others, learning, enrichment, family experiences, or simply saving for later.

Under the newly announced Child Credits, eligible Singapore Citizen children will receive S$2,000 in cash each year from age 1 to 16 — adding up to S$32,000 over 16 years.

So we’re curious:

What would your family prioritise?

A — Everyday needs
B — Learning & enrichment
C — Family experiences
D — Save for later

Or something completely different?

Tell us in the comments — we’d love to hear how different families think about it. ✨

S$70,000 for Every Child — But How Much Is Actually Cash?

Not exactly. Here’s the simple version 💛

Under the newly announced support package, the cash portion over time is about S$42,000:

S$10,000 Baby Gift
S$32,000 Child Credits
(S$2,000 a year from age 1 to 16)

The rest is support set aside for specific uses, including:

MediSave Grant for Newborns
CDA First Step Grant
CDA co-matching
Edusave contributions
PSEA top-up at age 17

So no — it’s not one S$70,000 cash payout.
It’s a mix of cash support, healthcare support, matched savings, and education support from birth to age 17.

We hope this makes the breakdown a little easier to understand ✨

A little help, year after year. 💛

From newborn cuddles to preschool discoveries, school-day milestones and teenage dreams, every stage of growing up brings new needs.

Under Singapore’s newly announced child support measures, each Singaporean child will receive around S$70,000 in direct financial support from birth to age 17—with help continuing across the growing years, not only at the beginning.

Because raising a child is a journey, and support matters at every step. Which stage is your family in right now?

Big news for growing families in Singapore 🇸🇬

Under the new SG Child Support Package, every eligible Singapore Citizen child will receive the same level of support, regardless of birth order. Together with existing MediSave and Edusave benefits, this adds up to around S$70,000 in direct support from birth to age 17.

From the Baby Gift and yearly Child Credits to CDA and PSEA support, the help is designed to continue through the different stages of a child’s growing years.

Leaving the house with a baby is rarely just “grab your keys and go.” 😅

It is one last nappy check, the bottle you nearly forgot, a spare outfit, the comfort toy—and somehow looking for the keys that were already in your hand.

Some outings begin smoothly. Some begin ten minutes late. Both count.

Parents, what is the one thing you always double-check before leaving home?

A — Practical
Rompers, bibs, socks and pieces the family can use every day.

B — Comfort
A soft blanket, towel or cuddly companion.

C — Keepsake
A photo frame, personalised detail or card to hold on to.

D — A little of everything
Something useful, something comforting and something to remember.

Planning your first visit with a new baby? A little thoughtfulness can help the whole family feel cared for. 👶

📅 Check the timing with the parents first.
🧼 Wash or sanitise your hands before getting close.
🤧 Reschedule if you are feeling unwell.
⏱️ Keep the visit easy and take your cue from the parents.
🎁 Bring something useful and add a short personal note.
🫶 Offer help—without making the family feel they need to host.

The goal is not a perfect visit. It is to leave the family feeling supported.

Not sure what to write in a newborn card? Keep it simple, warm and personal. 💌

For baby:
“Welcome, little one. May your days be filled with love, laughter and many happy firsts.”

For the parents:
“Congratulations on your beautiful new chapter. Wishing your family gentle days and joyful memories together.”

For someone close:
“I’m so happy for you. I can’t wait to watch your little family grow.”

A small tip: add the baby’s name and one personal sentence. That is often the part the family remembers most.

Save this for your next baby shower or first visit.
