[ ROOM ] by 3EIGHTH is a documentation of life, having our pieces lived in, the allowance to be, and the nuances in between.

Our third edition of [ ROOM ] comes alive with Micco a spatial designer from Tokyo, Japan and her reflections on the spaces that restore her, the colours that hold her different sides, and what it means to move through the world without letting her own axis waver.

Everyday is shaped by observation, translating ideas into form, and finding herself in the intersections between people, cities, old things and new.

服が誰かの生活の中で着られ、その人らしくいられる余白と、その間にあるささやかなニュアンスを見つめる場所。

第3回目となる [ ROOM ] では、東京を拠点に活動する空間デザイナー、Miccoさんを迎えます。

心を整えてくれる場所、自分の中にあるさまざまな側面を映す色、そして、自分の軸を揺らすことなく世界を歩んでいくことについて、彼女の言葉で綴っていただきました。

観察することから日々が形づくられ、思考をかたちへと移しながら、人と街、古いものと新しいものが交わる場所に、自分自身を見つけていく。

To rise gently, that is what the Ukabu Dress translates to, and stands for. A silhouette that moves with air and space, and a representation of what modern day femininity looks like to us.

Designed with a structured upper panelling, and contrasted with a voluminous, layered skirt. The shift in weight and form creates a sense of lift, allowing the garment to float away from the body, holding shape while allowing movement.

Made with long-staple cotton and finished with an invisible zipper. Available in Olive and Cream, and Toner Black.

浮かび上がるように、やわらかく立ち上がること。
それが、Ukabu Dressという名前に込められた意味であり、この一着が表すものです。

空気と余白をまといながら動くシルエット。
そして、私たちが考える現代のフェミニニティを映し出す一着です。

構築的な上身頃のパネル切り替えに、ボリュームのあるレイヤードスカートを合わせたデザイン。

Officially bid our third studio space goodbye. And of course, there are a million feelings about it.

I've dreamt of many things here. Built from a bare unit, this space began as our idea of what a different tailoring experience could be - warm, open, and a place where clothing and conversations intersect and take shape.

Instead, it became the backdrop to much more.

It witnessed 3EIGHTH grow beyond custom tailoring and into ready-to-wear. Collections developed here, fittings happened, pop-ups packed for, mistakes made, ideas tested, and many of you walked through our doors and became part of our world.

In many ways, we built this studio to give our ideas a physical home. And what we’ve come to realise is that the structure needed for our next chapter looks a little different. Less about four walls, and more about smarter systems, considered designs, meaningful stories, and most importantly, honouring this very community of people, who are curious about experiencing life unabashedly.

So while leaving is bittersweet, it also feels incredibly freeing.

This next chapter cements our continued move into ready-to-wear, and the wider 3EIGHTH universe we’ve been slowly building. I hope that every piece, story and experience from us will evoke curiosity, optimism and an allowance to be, and that it accompanies you through all of life’s ambiguities, just as 3EIGHTH has seen me through the motions of life.

To everyone who has visited, trusted us with a garment, attended an open studio, helped behind the scenes, or simply followed along; thank you for giving this space life.

On to what’s next, we can't wait either x 🧡

[ NOTES ] I usually lean towards more casual fits, but when I’m in the mood to take things up a notch, I love a shirt that makes me feel like I’m showing up.

Here, in one of my favourite pieces from our “INTERMISSION” series - the Oki Scarf Top in Sakura Pink.

Pink is not usually a colour I’d reach for, but there’s something about this particular shade that adds just the right amount of femininity to a stronger, more structured silhouette.

Worn with my trusty Chocolate Sagyo Trousers. I truly can’t do without them.

普段はカジュアルなフィットを選ぶことが多いのですが、少し気持ちを引き上げたい時には、“ちゃんと自分として立っている”と感じさせてくれるシャツが好きです。

ここでは、「INTERMISSION」シリーズの中でもお気に入りの一着、Oki Scarf Top (Sakura Pink）を着用しています。

ピンクは普段あまり手に取らない色ですが、この色には、強さのある構築的なシルエットに、ちょうどよい女性らしさを添えてくれる何かがあります。

信頼しているChocolateのSagyo Trousersと合わせて。やっぱり、私にとって欠かせない一本です。

I have feelings. So many of them!

As we make room for the next chapter, the past few weeks have been spent packing up the studio, looking through old samples and revisiting past collections. Along the way, I've found myself remembering how each piece comes alive, from the experiments, to mistakes, and the milestones that quietly shaped who we are today.

Before we go, we'll be opening the studio one last time for our Archive & Sample Sale.
