We are so proud and excited to be a part of this! The Kemben is particularly meaningful to us, as fans of Batik, Asian women with a shared heritage and who are also in the boob-tube/Bandeau business. Let’s explore various ways of styling and wearing the Kemben together!
Come join us this Sunday at Galeri Tokokita as we understand the cultural and historical significance of the Kemben (also known as the breastcloth) as a garment in olden days, and how Baju’s latest collection which is an interpretation of this piece of cloth.
With us are also the folks behind Jac & Jo whose bandeaus are a must-have for every woman.
Limited spaces so do come early to score a seat (and a Kebaya Kemben with Bandeaus while you are at it!)
Ladies, unite. Bring a girlfriend. Bring your boyfriend/husband/manfriend... All are welcome! Men, please come join us because this is not just for women. One of our speakers is our friend, Hafiz Rashid, a Nusantara otaku whose main interests are studying the languages and textile traditions of the Malay Archipelago.
So much to share. See you on Sunday!
