Developing custom-made shoes based on data obtained with 3D scanning is challenging. It has been a bumpy road for a small startup. It is even harder to implement all the innovations into the production line, as the industry is pretty straightforward โ making standard, off-the-shelf shoes for mass production.
On top of these hurdles, we've confronted the complex task of aligning the shape of custom-made shoes with today's fashion standards - which, more often than not, bear little resemblance to the anatomy of our feet.
We have spent almost a year developing a smart-casual leather classic shoe named MAP. ๐คฉ๐
MAP combines traditional shoemaking with advanced 3D scan technology and is now complete.
However, we made a bold decision not to launch. Yes, one could say we pivoted the wrong way, but one could also say that MAP is a testament to the importance of learning and growth. It serves as a reminder that making innovative shoes is challenging, but it also serves as another proof that with dedication and a good team, it can be done.
We invite you to explore the beauty of MAP. We hope this pair provides some comfort that No Number takes its task of making custom shoes based on 3D scans seriously, and that when we finally do hit the market, the product will be worthy of your trust.
Quality takes time, and we appreciate your patience.
