In the Halls of Awaiting... an IMP photo shoot.
This time around we went to Castle Dobra Voda (Good Water)
and took some Insomnium goodies along with us.
It was a fair amount of walking uphill, but it wasn't very steep.
Nothing we couldn't manage,
even with all the equipment that we took with us.
Anyway, back to the masters of melancholic melodic doom/death
or whatever else genre you want to call them.
Not many have perfected their sound over the years, like they have,
but for me personally, their 2006'album 'Above the Weeping World'
Will always be my favorite. Its the one that got me into their music.
Mortal Share still slaps, especially on their live shows!
Last I saw them live was at this year's Brutal Assault festival
and the crowd was just going wild,
it was an neverending of crowdsurfers throughout.
Sometimes that can be inspiring in life too. 🤘😈

While we're eagerly waiting to get a taste of the
recently reunited 'Slaughter of the Soul' line up of
Gothenburg legends At The Gates
we have here, what is probably their most 'proggiest' and atmospheric album.
The music on 'The Nightmare of Being' is filled with ominous atmosphere throughout the death metal onslaught, and yet it fits so perfectly.
And then we have some sprinkled surprises here and there
(I'm looking at you 🎷), which is a great example of thinking outside the box
when you're aiming for something different. This is what inspires us as well.
Just trying out different things, and see where they take us.

Just The Ocean Collective Phanerozoic box set chilling in its natural habitat,
surrounded by beautiful fern leaves.
This band's music really caught my attention with the first Phanerozoic album,
So you could say I just fairly recently started getting into their music,
even though it's been like 4 years already.
My only regret is that I didn't gave them a proper chance much sooner.
I just love when bands have concept or thematic albums,
It somehow makes you more involved and connected to the music itself.
And just last month I caught their show in Bratislava , Randal Club - live&wild rock'n'roll music club .
With them being a prog band, the atmosphere was just wild.

Today we look back again to our inspirations.
When gloom strikes the skies, I turn to one of my personal favorite bands,
regardless of the genre of music,
melancholic masters
It was love at first listen way back when I was 16 years old,
(this was 2006) and heard the song My Twin for the first time on the radio.
And then later they played Rusted and the rest is history.
Here we have their 30th anniversary compilation titled Mnemosynean
in all its white vinyl version glory. A beautiful collection of bands B-Sides, rare tracks, covers, remixes, that captures their entire musical spectrum.

A little teaser from our photo session with the first ever IMP merch drop,

From just an idea, through putting that idea on paper an after all the hard work
(that's far from over, we're just getting started really),
and to finally see it on the the merch, is beyond exhilarating to say the least!
It puts a smile on our faces.

Every story has it's beginning, and ours at IMP is no different.
While it may seem that we are just starting now with our brand,
it actually goes over a year and a half back.
Well over 22 years really, if we're talking about heavy music, but we'll get to that later...
Anyway, long story short, for starters we are going too take you back a year,
when we took the 20th anniversary vinyl of Clayman album by now legendary In Flames for a walk.
There were beautiful autumn colors everywhere, much like now, and it was just a great day for going out
and having fun while taking some cool pics along the way.
We wanted to show our appreciation for the band and their music, as we take our inspiration for IMP brand
mostly from artists and bands that we enjoy and listen to on our daily troubles.
We hope you like it and there is certainly more coming from us! Keep an eye out!
