IZELIA FASHION IS 10!!! — A Decade of Dreams Woven into Reality.
10 years ago today, I showed up for IZELIA’s very first day of trade at London Spitalfields Market in the heart of a vibrant creative scene, with a small stall, big faith, and a bold dream to showcase Sierra Leone culture and heritage, and stitch sustainability into every seam of our work.
Today, I pause in awe at how far that vision has travelled. From that first day of trading in London, we have grown into a platform and production house in Sierra Leone now with a textile and uniform production factory, a training school, and today we officially open our Uniform & Trimmings Shop.
Over this decade, we have:
• Mentored and supported countless designers and entrepreneurs
• Built bridges between artisans and markets
• Created opportunities and livelihoods. especially for women and young people
• Carried Sierra Leone’s creative identity with pride, wherever IZELIA is seen
It hasn’t always been easy. Pandemics, supply challenges, and economic shifts tested our threads, but they also strengthened our fabric, making it more resilient and richly textured with stories of perseverance and triumph.
To every supporter, partner, designer, volunteer, customer, and dreamer who has walked this journey with us Thank You.
Your belief has been the true warp and weft of our success. Because of you, we’ve been able to empower communities and support livelihoods for hundreds of women, youth and their families.
