On Thursday 23rd April, IZELIA celebrated 10 years of creativity, culture, resilience, and purpose.
My heart is full, and I want to begin by saying thank you. My deepest gratitude goes to Her Excellency, the British High Commissioner, and the entire team at the British High Commission for opening your home and your hearts to us, and for giving IZELIA such a meaningful platform to celebrate this milestone. Your support made the evening truly special.
To Her Excellency Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, First Lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone, thank you for honouring us with your presence, your words, and your encouragement. Your recognition of the vision behind IZELIA means so much to me, to the team, and to the wider creative community.
To everyone who came out to celebrate with us, family, friends, partners, customers, members of the diplomatic corps, government representatives, the creative sector, and our loyal supporters , thank you. I saw you, I felt the love, and I am deeply grateful.
To team IZELIA, our tailors, artisans, models, designers, makeup artists, performers, musicians, creatives, photographers, videographers, stylists, vendors, and everyone who worked behind the scenes, lthank you for giving your time, your talent, your energy, and your heart.
To the technical teams, the team at the High Commissioner’s residence, Eminence Africa Kaemon Events SLMedia, the carpenters, cleaners, decorators, security, logistics teams, and everyone who helped build, prepare, serve, clean, guide, lift, carry, arrange, fix, and make the night possible — thank you. No role was small. Every hand helped bring the vision to life.
IZELIA @ 10 was more than a fashion show. It was a celebration of Sierra Leonean heritage, African identity, women, craft, creativity, and the power of culture to connect us.
I am overwhelmed with gratitude.
Thank you for walking this journey with us. The next chapter begins now.
With love and gratitude,
Isata / Isatu
