TABI COLLECTOR'S SERIES: Hand-applied beads and sequins recreate the fractured surface of an oxidised mirror. Reflecting light in metallic and silver hues, the Tabi Broken Mirror Embroidery recalls the house's Broken Mirror technique with new depth and dimension.

A TABI FILM: A film directed by Yuri Ancarani offering an in-depth look at the craftmanship of the Maison Margiela Tabi, introduced in 1989 at our first show.

The film traces the journey of a pair of Tabi from concept to final assembly. In an artisanal process, every stage is carried out by hand. Preparing the base takes up to four hours, followed by the mould: cut from a block of wood, then stitching, and assembly. The practice gathers 11 artisans, each with their specific expertise, and each shoe is finished with a single white stitch.

A Tabi film documents technique and craft, capturing the shoe that endures over time. Footage from the archive depicts the heritage associated with the form that sets it apart.

AW25 TECHNIQUES: Through material exploration and innovative craftsmanship, Maison Margiela explores the beauty of garments transformed over time.

AW25 WORN SHOES: Autumn-Winter 2025 explores wear and memory. Shoes are washed, creased, and set by hand, revealing visible history.

AW25 5AC: Washed, waxed, and finished by hand. The treatment reveals visible signs of use and the natural texture of leather.

Co-Ed Spring Summer 2026 show, concepts for real life:​

DRAPED LAPEL: The ”tuxedo waistcoat” cutline is integrated into wardrobe staple garments, such as leather jackets and trenches, resulting in draped lapels that can be folded away and hidden inside. ​

Here paired with the Box Bag. The bag’s shape is reinforced with edges created through a thermoforming technique, and embellished with metal trims.

Co-Ed Spring Summer 2026 show, an evolution of archival ideas:​

TAILORING: The show opened with a proposition for tailoring, cutaway to a tuxedo waistcoat front. As well as leather and wool, the new tailoring proposition is cut in denim, to recognise the importance of denim in the history of the Maison. The tailoring has ties, just like the Maison Margiela blouse blanche worn by our staff.

Presented here with our Heel-less footwear - a reintroduction of an archival Maison Margiela concept, the heel hidden within.

Co-Ed Spring Summer 2026 show, new techniques are introduced:​​

FLORAL WALLPAPER: The effect of peeling 16th century floral wallpaper is created with printed paper embossed onto knitwear - an evolution of a concept from the Maison Margiela Artisanal 2025 show, florals are printed onto garments, some scanned from real flowers. ​

Presented here with our Cluster jewellery, the jewels gathered as if dropped down the side of an opera seat on opening night.
