KAKISHIBU (PERSIMMON DYE) TYPE I JACKET

This jacket begins with our Low Tension Kinari Selvedge Denim, an ecru base cloth rich with texture and natural character. We then over-dye the fabric in-house using traditional Kakishibu (Persimmon Dye), creating a dusty brown tone with organic variations that will deepen and patina beautifully with time.
Crafted in-house as part of our Craft Your Own Jacket offering, the garment follows our refined Type I pattern, featuring a single chest pocket, five-button front closure, and a heritage cinch-back adjuster.

INDIGO QUILTED REVERSIBLE BLANKET-LINED CHORE JACKET ❤️‍🔥 🍭 🤤
We feel truly fortunate to have been able to craft a piece from this remarkable heritage indigo reversible double-cloth fabric. We wish we had more of this material on hand but due to its limitations in quantities we will only be able to create 12 pcs from what’s available to us.
Rope-dyed in indigo, this jacket will age beautifully with wear.
A reversible piece where the face of the fabric is woven from indigo-dyed outer yarns and crossed with an inner blanket-stripe weave, forming a unified double-face cloth. The result is a stunning Indigo Dyed Diamond Weave exterior and heritage blanket liner 🔥
Each panel is cut so the diamond quilting falls in rhythm with the grain of the weave, giving subtle movement to the indigo surface. The design features two lower hand pockets and is fully reversible — literally offering two jackets in one. The reverse side carries a blanket-lined finish, echoing the feel of vintage mill cloth. Finished with real dark horn buttons, tonal thread, and functional pocketing on both sides. This piece pays homage to Japanese weaving mastery and American workwear tradition. Tailored with a fit that works seamlessly for both men and women. Every jacket will be cut individually once an order is placed at the Nama Workshop.

From the sumo ring to the sewing bench — strength meets soul.
The Yokozuna stands as Nama Denim’s heavyweight champion: a 25-ounce sanforized Japanese selvedge woven under extreme tension and slow speed. Each pair celebrates the spirit of mastery — one craftsman, one pair, stitched and hammered in-house at our sewing studio.
The red full-grain leather patch honors Japan’s Yokozuna, the grand champion of sumo. Expect brutal break-in, glorious vertical slub, and the kind of fade only the brave will earn.
Cut to our fresh Wide Straight Silhouette featuring a mid-high rise and balanced finish from thigh to hem, the Wide Straight fit brings comfort and relaxation to this beastly pair of jeans. The silhouette is reminiscent of 1950s workwear but refined for modern movement..
Every pair is sewn with copper–orange contrast stitching throughout, revealing subtle warmth as the denim ages. The waistband, back pockets and front pockets are lined with our signature red sashiko denim.
Available with minimal customizations for fit but not style. The design is set in stone however each pair can be adjusted to suit each one’s own measurements. We recommend y’all give it a try with this new silhouette it won’t disappoint 🤞

Made to specifications and created for the individual. This pair’s standout detail lies in the back pocket design a unique shape featuring a beautiful flap. The swirl back pocket arcuate stitching design is also quite unique and fancy. These design features are not part of our regular offerings, however extra requests can be made in the comments box whilst placing the order. If a request cannot be accomplished we will let you know.
These are an especially wide cut with a leg opening of 14’’ - ya dig!? 🪏👖
10 years ago we were cutting jeans with leg opening’s of 7-8 inches now we are doubling down.

ICE BLUE SELVEDGE 🧊👖
Woven by Kurabo Mills out of Okayama, Japan, this is our eco-conscious denim choice. The striking Ice Blue hue isn’t achieved through dyeing but through the careful reweaving of leftover denim scraps and recycled cotton, a sustainable process that creates this one a kind blue hue. It comes with a prominent Pink Selvedge ID or White Selvedge ID upon request. At a comfortable 12oz weight, it’s easy to break in and perfectly suited for the brighter days.
This particular design was first brought together by , originally crafted in our 14oz Brown Selvedge. The beautiful design translates onto this Ice Blue fabric as well, bringing a fresh lightness to its vintage-inspired details which include, Single Shovel Back Pocket, Frog Mouth Front Pockets, Functional Buckle Back. It’s great to see this design resonate with so many folks.

KIBATA UNSANFORIZED LOOM-STATE SELVEDGE
A staple of our Craft Your Own Jeans program - the Kibata denim. Woven in its loom-state, this unsanforized fabric has all the raw irregularities and textures that make it unique. Slubby yarns, subtle hairiness, and a smooth-yet-rough, handwoven-like handle. At first glance, the rope-dyed indigo warp carries a dank, muted depth almost boring - but with wear the layers of indigo gradually evolve, revealing a vivid spectrum of blues. Made and crafted to specifics requested, this pair features single-pleated front, darted back, one-off slanted front pockets. Other noticeable details include the thicker center back belt loop. Overall, a standout pair with details covered across the board.
Pre washed to prevent further shrinkage!
