Whiskers are the faded, horizontal crease patterns that naturally develop around the upper thigh and hip area of jeans through repeated wear. They are one of the key details that give worn-in denim its authentic character.
Our whisker process starts with shaping the jeans directly on a specialized machine. Heat is then used to set the natural 3D creases into the fabric.
Once fixed, these authentic folds can be carefully sanded to reveal the wear pattern — creating depth, dimension and a much more natural vintage appearance.
Unlike whiskers simply drawn or sanded in as flat lines, this technique follows the way denim naturally creases through wear, resulting in a richer and more authentic finish.
We study and research vintage denim extensively to understand how these patterns naturally develop over time — allowing us to recreate them with as much authenticity as possible.
The difference is in the dimension.
