What if a counselling space could offer support before a conversation even begins?

Glimmers Into the Everyday brings together 12 counselling-space transformations across Taiwan’s higher education institutions. Rather than treating design as a surface-level renewal, each project begins with the emotional and spatial realities of its campus.

Light, material, circulation and form are carefully used to create a greater sense of ease. Together, these interventions make care feel more present, approachable and embedded in campus life.

How is AI changing the way we design, and what can design change in return?

In celebration of World Industrial Design Day 2026, World Design Organization (WDO) is bringing the global design community together for “Let’s Talk Resilience”, streaming live on WDO’s YouTube channel on 29 June.

As a WDO Member, Taiwan Design Research Institute (TDRI) presents Design-driven Innovation in the Age of AI, sharing how design can help industries, organizations, and society adapt to change, create value, and build resilience in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

From AI-assisted design tools and circular design to smart healthcare, urban governance, and public service innovation, TDRI continues to bring Taiwan’s design methodologies and practical experience to the global stage.

𝗧𝘄𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗶𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 — 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲.

Philippine designer Gio Prado steps into the Taipei studio of Yen An Chen, where sunlight falls across wood and steel and a quiet dialogue unfolds. Their exchange moves through materials, design intent and ways of working, revealing how each island cultivates its own design language.

After experiencing Taiwan’s design scene and the atmosphere of the Golden Pin Design Award, subtle yet compelling differences between Filipino and Taiwanese design come into focus — not to seek similarity, but to understand how distinct perspectives form parallel landscapes.

兩位設計師、兩座島嶼 —— 一場關於設計的對話。

菲律賓設計師 Gio Prado 走進設計師 陳彥安 的工作室，陽光落在木料與鐵件上，對話也在不經意中展開。從材料、設計理念到創作態度，探討兩座島嶼如何形塑各自的設計文化。

在走入台灣設計現場、親身感受金點設計獎的氛圍之後，這場交流讓台菲設計之間微妙而迷人的差異悄然浮現——不是為了尋找相似，而是在不同之中，看見彼此的風景。

2025台灣設計週，在上週末正式劃下句點。
感謝每一位走進松菸與我們一起探索「未來生活」的朋友！

今年主題展《DESIGN NEXT 進未來》拋出一個問題：
在 AI 加速、氣候失序、價值碰撞的時代，
我們想要打造怎樣的未來？

展覽集結 31 組臺灣與國際創作者、27 件作品，跨越永續、文化、科技三個面向，以研究、影像、裝置與材料實驗帶來具體的未來提案。今年也首度與 ＃IASDR2025 合作策劃跨國交流，吸引全球設計研究者與實踐者來到台北；並邀請義大利、英國、韓國、日本、泰國等地 12 位國際媒體代表深度參訪與採訪。
同時與捷克中心台北共同舉辦「台捷設計對話 3×3」，讓不同文化背景下的創新觀點在台北交會；並以「設計產業論壇」開啟設計與產業端的前瞻對話，共同探討未來的跨域合作想像。

從「價值光譜互動牆」到七支「未來人物短片」，觀眾在展場裡看見未來的不確定，也看見行動可能；設計不只是美學，而是一種面對世界的態度。

2025 Taiwan Design Week closed last weekend, drawing visitors to Songshan Cultural and Creative Park to reflect on the conditions shaping our future lives.

The main exhibition, DESIGN NEXT, centred on a single question:
How do we design a future amid accelerating AI, climate instability and shifting social values?

Featuring 31 creators and 27 works, the show spanned sustainability, culture and technology, presenting research-led installations, material experiments and visual studies that outline possible futures.
This edition also expanded its international reach through , which brought global design researchers and practitioners to Taipei, alongside media representatives from Italy, the UK, Korea, Japan, Thailand and beyond.

The Taiwan–Czech 3×3 Design Talk, organised with the Czech Centre Taipei, introduced perspectives across cultures and disciplines; the Design Industry Forum further opened conversations linking design with industry, highlighting emerging modes of cross-sector collaboration.

Across elements such as the Value Spectrum interactive wall and a series of Future Persona films, the exhibition invited audiences to consider uncertainty not as a limit but as a space for agency.
Here, design is positioned less as form-making and more as a way of engaging with a rapidly transforming world.
