The camera, which can be attached either by a clip or magnetic backing, begins recording with a tap to the body, and uses either cellular or Wi-Fi connectivity to instantly allow you to share video to destinations like Facebook Live or YouTube. It also securely stores videos on the Shonin cloud, lets you view videos on your phone via the Shonin app, and perform simple edits. If no connectivity is available, the camera can also store encrypted captured footage to its internal 8GB SD card. The camera is also IP67 waterproof, is GPS enabled, and has a single charge that delivers 2.5 hours of battery life, which can be doubled with an additional magnetic battery.

A new palm-sized body cam called Shonin has launched on Kickstarter, positioning itself as a security device (as opposed to other wearable cameras like FrontRow meant for capturing "experiences"). T...

Nova Technology — the name of Migicovsky's new venture — bills PodCase as a "slim case for carrying and charging your iPhone and AirPods," which is partly true. It certainly is a case that charges and stores your iPhone and AirPods, but the word "slim" is stretching it. The incredibly clunky-looking protrusion toward the top of the case sticks up over the top of the phone to hold the AirPods. Nothing better illustrates this point than the image on the Kickstarter page showing the case almost fitting into a pocket.

Apple's AirPods — like many truly wireless headphones — need to be recharged fairly often. This is typically done through the included case, which charges your headphones while you store them in...

The product is essentially a water bottle combined with a memory foam pad that you strap to the top of your existing pillow. A tube runs out of it that circulates water through the pad and also connects to a bedside device that tracks the pad’s temperature and the temperature of the surrounding environment.

Tea. Mankind has been brewing and drinking it for hundreds, if not thousands of years, and while the varieties of tea, techniques of preparation, and methods of brewing have changed as cultures and times have changed, at its core, it all boils down to steeping leaves in water.

UK company Bare Conductive has launched a light kit on Kickstarter that lets you turn any piece of paper into a working, customizable lamp — no soldering or programming required. Each kit lets you build three types of lamps: a touch version, one that dims, and a proximity lamp where brightness is controlled by hovering your hand over a pad.

What if you never had to charge your smartwatch? That’s the promise of Lunar, a new Kickstarter project that claims to be the world’s first solar-powered smartwatch. Solar-powered wristwatches aren’t a particularly new concept; Casio and Citizen are two particularly well-known brands. Lunar isn’t the first hybrid smartwatch to try and solve the battery problem, either: a company called Sequent took a stab at it on Kickstarter earlier this year using kinetic charging, too.

Battery life on smartwatches is, in a word, bad. And while most of today’s watches can more or less make it through a day without dying, they’re still a far cry from the months or even years that...

Disney has just announced delays for its 2022 Marvel films, along with the upcoming fifth Indiana Jones movie, all of which have been pushed back to later in the year or moved to 2023.

The Marvel movie shifts are the usual chain reaction delay: to push back one movie means pushing back all of them, so there’s a domino effect in pushing everything back a bit:

Marvel’s heroes are no match for production delays.

The lawsuits, covered earlier today by The Hollywood Reporter, were filed in New York and California against the heirs of Steve Ditko, Don Rico, Don Heck, and Gene Colan, as well as Stan Lee’s brother and Marvel collaborator Lawrence Lieber. They ask courts to declare that Disney has sole ownership of comics like The Avengers, Iron Man, Amazing Spider-Man, Strange Tales, and Tales of Suspense — including the characters and story elements that have formed the basis for Disney’s lucrative Marvel Cinematic Universe.

As The Hollywood Reporter notes, the suits follow Lieber and others sending termination notices to reclaim part of the rights on many Marvel characters. They’re an attempt to head off litigation that might follow from those notices.

Termination notices are meant to let creators and their heirs share in publishers’ profits. But Disney’s attorneys argue that Marvel had sole creative control over the characters and comic books in question, saying it paid writers and artists on a work-for-hire basis that precluded any rights to the resulting books. “This case thus involves an invalid attempt, by means of termination notices ... to acquire certain rights to iconic Marvel comic book characters and stories,” says the suit against Lieber.

Marvel settled a lawsuit with Jack Kirby’s family in 2014.

For the first time in nearly two years, there’s a new trailer for the upcoming Spider-Man spinoff Morbius, which stars Jared Leto as Dr. Michael Morbius, an ailing scientist who inadvertently turns himself into a “pseudo-vampire” while searching for a cure for his rare medical condition.

Morbius is an unusual film, even by Sony’s Spider-Man universe standards. The character is what can best be described as a C-list Spider-Man villain, which Morbius is reimagining as a Venom-style antihero who wars between his doctoral duties as a healer and his newfound bloodlust.

The new trailer helps give a broad introduction to the character, including his origin story and his powers, which include the usual super-strength and speed, “some form of bat radar,” and a vampire-esque craving for blood. Although, again, Morbius is not technically a vampire.

In theaters on January 28th.

The latest trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home has arrived, bringing with it some big surprises for Spider-Man’s latest MCU outing.

If you’re trying to go into the latest adventure of the web-slinging hero without spoilers, you’ll probably want to skip hitting play here (or reading the rest of this post).

Spoilers for Spider-Man: Far From Home and Spider-Man: No Way Home below:

As revealed in the first trailer, No Way Home picks up right where Far From Home left off: with Peter Parker’s secret identity as Spider-Man revealed to the world, something that Peter tries to enlist Doctor Strange’s (Benedict Cumberbatch) assistance in rectifying. Magical multiverse hijinks ensue.

Things appear to go wrong, though, resulting in appearances from a plethora of Spidey rogues from Sony’s past Spider-Man franchises (before the MCU was ever around), including Spider-Man’s Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe), Spider-Man 2’s Doctor Octopus (Alfred Molina), and The Amazing Spider-Man 2’s Electro (Jamie Foxx).

Spider-Man: No Way Home hits theaters on December 17th.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is a film meant to do a lot of things. It’s the third film in the Jon Watts-directed MCU trilogy of Spider-Man films, concluding a storyline for Tom Holland’s incarnation of Peter Parker. It’s a direct sequel to Spider-Man: Far From Home, picking up where the cliffhanger credit scene of the 2019 film left off. It’s the continuation of the overarching Marvel Cinematic Universe and its “Phase Four” story arc. And it’s a tribute to the past 20 years of Spider-Man movies.

That’s a lot of balls to juggle. And the fact that No Way Home succeeds in pulling off as many of them as it does is impressive, especially when it comes to the fan service — but much like Peter Parker, this movie can’t have everything.

Spoiler warning: this review will reference basic plot details of the movie as revealed in the existing Spider-Man: No Way Home trailers, in addition to spoilers for Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Tom Holland’s best outing as Spider-Man yet.

Though director Nicolas Roeg’s The Man Who Fell to Earth from 1976 was itself an adaptation of Walter Tevis’ sci-fi novel of the same name, David Bowie’s performance in the cinematic adaptation has become so iconic that Titan Comics plans to lead with it in its upcoming graphic novelization from writer Dan Watters and artist Dev Pramanik.

Like the film before it, Titan’s The Man Who Fell to Earth will tell the story of Thomas Jerome Newton, a humanoid alien with Bowie’s signature heterochromatic eyes who comes to Earth on a desperate mission in search of water that his home planet desperately needs. In a press release about the new book, Watters reflected on how the original story was always a rumination on humanity’s relationship with Earth’s natural resources, and how he plans to revisit those themes through a contemporary lens.
