Dear Friends, Well wishers & Partners of Malengo Foundation,
Our staff and ambassadors send you warm wishes during this trying time. Together with the rest of the world, we are surveillng the impact of COVID-19 globally. The level of disability-inclusiveness in the responses in the various interventions ongoing countrywide and the continent at large is our prime concern.
It is a logistically strenuous time for us all, with a number of our planned community interventions & activities suspended as a result of the imminent need to social distance and maintain all World Health Organisation guidelines as best as we possibly can at this time. Putting the safety of our team at the forefront is cardinal and we would like to inform you about the guidelines in place as we continue to adapt to the current reality for us all.
Safety Measures: With respect to the health guidelines set out at the moment, our offices and social enterprises are closed at this time. All our staff members are observing the guidelines and recommendations expressed by the World Health Organisation via our Ministry Of Health. In this respect, all our staff members are working from home as we continue to abide and monitor the situation.
Volunteers: We are currently searching for volunteers at this time who have expertise in project planning and advocacy rights from around the continent with the capacity to work remotely from home. Special attention will be paid to applications sent by youth with disabilities.
Collaborations and Partnerships: We are currently seeking partners with organizations around the continent, working on the frontlines to curb this pandemic in various communities.
Although all our staff shall be working from home, we are available by email on [email protected] and phone on; +256775636921/+256702784998. Do not hesitate to call upon us as we are working round the clock to recalibrate how we shall continue to serve during these uncertain times.
To the thousands of families across the globe who have lost a loved one, we send our deepest condolences. To every ailing person battling the virus, we keep you in our deepest prayers.
To every health worker, we say thank you! To every frontline worker, we say thank you! To every carer, parent or relative of a person with a disability taking charge to offer care to the vulnerable at this time, we are forever indebted to you!
Thank you for keeping the spirit of Ubuntu alive in these times of uncertainty. Together apart, we shall emerge stronger! We cannot wait to meet again, but for now, we remain committed to working towards a disability-inclusive continent and world for us all.
Stay Safe & Hang in there!
Sincerely,
The Malengo Foundation Family.
