Kilombera Weaving

Kilombera Weaving Kilombera is the name of a rare weaver bird found in parts of East Africa.

Kilombera supports local artisans producing a wide range of hand woven products including kikoys, hammocks, bedspreads and tablemats. 100% Ugandan crafted, the cotton used is grown, spun, dyed and woven in Uganda. For a male weaver bird to find a mate it must spend hours weaving an intricate and attractively designed nest. Kilombera products have been handwoven on traditional hand looms with the

same attention to detail. Registered as a company in 2004, with only two weavers, Kilombera now supports eight weavers, two tailors and one admin staff. All training is done in-house and some of the staff have been with the company since almost the beginning.
